National Enquire reports Palin affair rumor(know what's out there)
Alakan Abroad | September 03, 2008 | Dillon

The National Enquirer is reporting Gov. Sarah Palin had an extramarital affair. The story doesn't mention when the alleged affair happened.

My sources in Alaska say the incident occurred in mid 1990s, right around the time she became mayor of Wasilla. Todd Palin's partner in a Polaris snowmachine dealership in Wasilla, Brad Hanson Hampton, and Sarah were reportedly flirtatious and but never consummated the relationship.

When Todd found out, he reportedly dissolved the partnership and sold the dealership. Hampton is now a member of the Palmer City Council. He was married at the time of the reported flirtation.

Here's the response from the McCain people:

“The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Governor Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie. Governor Palin is the most popular governor in the country. She is a proven leader, an accomplished executive, a champion for ethics reform, and a fighter against corruption. The efforts of the media and tabloids to destroy this fine and accomplished public servant are a disgrace. The American people will reject it.

“Senator McCain and Governor Palin look forward to discussing the issues that Americans care about, fixing broken government, creating jobs, making our country energy independent and securing the peace for the next generation by bringing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to a victorious end. Legal action will be considered with regard to this disgraceful smear.”
– McCain senior adviser Steve Schmidt.

There's a lot of criticism about the way the media is treating Sarah Palin. A national story on an almost-affair does raise questions about how much of Palin's personal life should be dragged out for public scrutiny. It certainly must be an uncomfortable time for the Palin family.

Does a decade old flirtation have news value in a presidential campaign?

*I've gotten reponses back saying the incident may have tested her relationship but she seems to have come out the other side in a stronger relationship.

Todd Palin’s business partnership may have dissolved for some other reason.

However, if I were in business with a woman whom I saw “setting her cap” for my husband, she would be out the door before sundown.

Just a reminder to the Democrat Clinton apologists (and that would be 99% of Democrats) - “Leave Bill alone. It’s JUST about sex! It’s JUST a private matter.”

So, they have hollered “Wolf” for a week now with every kind of lie in the book. They need to hear it loud and clear - “Leave Gov. Palin alone. It’s JUST about a rumored flirtation and it’s JUST a private matter!”

Zerobama & Joe are going to have to face McCain & Sarah, or they could call back their favorite candidates Edwards & Bore I suppose. Or the Clinton duo, Bill & Hill.

I think they are talking about taking her out with scandal. They have already thrown everything at her they can come up with. What worries me is, they are amatuers with big mouths. Obama is a pro and plays very dirty. He was caught by surprise and is confused right now but you can bet he has his best thugs working day and night on this. They will manufacture something foolproof. They will cover their tracks well. I do worry about her safety because I do believe they are capable of violence against her if all else fails.

I read a post in, I think it was Dkos, where they rationalize why its ok for them but not Republicans. The poster said that they don’t claim to have any morals so therefore whatever they do is ok. But Republicans claim the moral high ground so if they do anything human then they are guilty of immorality. I swear to God, folks!

Just google Debbie Richter and Palin. The ex-wife denies it “1000 percent”. Also see the following from the smokinggun that Richter wanted to seal the papers because he was tired of guess who being too nosey? The msm, of course. I suppose the new tactic is if you don’t disclose your entire life to the almighty msm, they’ll get you back by making sure they plaster enough bs out there to ruin your life.

In my opinion, when hearts are involved, as in an emotional affair, things become dangerous. Many physical affairs are just that- physical, done for the “thrill” and release, rather that for a deep connection. In either case, this isn’t always true, and also in either case, often one person is involved in an entirely different way that the other.
I witnessed an emotional affair which was on that level because the couple believed that consummating it made it a “bad” thing, yet their connection to each other became incredibly deep through hours, days, weeks, months, of “sharing” everything about themselves. Regardless of them not consummating it, the affair was a painful thing. I stand by what I said, and certainly do not condone either one or say they are interchangeable. Both are damaging and to be avoided at all costs.

Of all the things I remember from attending a very conservative
church during my formative years, one of them was the statement from
the best Sunday School teacher I had.
(and I'm sure he would have said there was one higher power!)

"The greatest power on Earth is the human power for rationalization"
