ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Alaska lawmaker leading an investigation into Gov. Sarah Palin's dismissal of her public safety commissioner should be removed because he appears to be manipulating the probe to damage her vice presidential candidacy, a Republican legislator says.

Talk about a conflict of interest. This guy French heading the Palin inquiry should either step down, or at least stop talking to the media. He’s been an Obama guy all along and is even listed on his site. What do you want to bet he won’t do either?

Alaska state senator Hollis French, who is running an investigation of Gov. Sarah Palin, says the McCain campaign is using stall tactics to prevent him from releasing his final report by Oct. 31st.

That’s funny. Here is what he was saying not all that long ago.

In August 2008, the Alaska Legislature hired Steve Branchflower to investigate Palin and her staff for possible abuse of power surrounding the dismissal.[58] Democratic State Senator Hollis French, who is overseeing the investigation, says that the Palin administration has been cooperating and that subpoenas are unnecessary.[59]

Would that be the Hollis French talking about the “energy” behind Obama’s campaign back in August?

Sad to say, this is likely just the beginning.

They (meaning the left and media...but, what's the difference?) CANNOT allow her to succeed, and will pull out all the stops.

I expect a 60-day drip-drip-drip of water torture right up to Election Day, followed by the Mother Of All October Surprises (a little "Hussein" lingo there); unsubstantiated, of course, but too late in the campaign to disprove.

I'm thinking McCain/Palin will need a 10-point lead in early November to survive the onslaught.

I had a post earlier where I was wondering if Palin’s popularity in Alaska would ruin any politician who knocked her out of the VP spot. Dispute being tough on her enemies, she has been very fair to most others. I think that the moving up of the date of release to prevent and October surprise. I also think that nothing (as should be) well come of trooper gate. Monegan said nobody ask him to fire Wooton.
