“If I were a citizen of Wasilla as soon as the reporters arrived the town would turn into Dodge City just before a gun battle....not a human in sight.”

The press is just a delight to watch in a remote rural setting. I’m pinging Jeff & some others to verify this story, because I got it second hand. In 2000, some of us went to a place called Jarbidge Nevada for a 4th of July ‘celebration’. The press had been thick for days, some were cool. It was fun watching the bleached blonde ‘reporters’ climbing hills to set up a camera in heels. I digress...

When it was over and everyone (Media trucks and all) were heading out....on one lane winding, steep, dirt road, one of the media rigs (CNN?) started honking...he got in a hurry.

Everyone else decided, well, it must be time for a break, so they ALL stopped, got out, had some refreshments and good conversation and when the press decided to proceed civilly without honking they went on.

People of the land don’t like to be pushed.
