With both Rasmussen and Gallup showing Barack Obama moving backwards even before the Republican Convention dropped its balloons on Andrea Mitchell, one can excuse the Democratic nominee for hearing footsteps. How desperate has he gotten? Looks like hes playing the race card once again:
And I know that the temptation is to say, You know what?
The guy hasnt been there that long in Washington., You know, hes got funny name, You know, were not sure about him, Obama continued. And thats what the Republicans, when they say, This isnt about issues, its about personalities, what theyre really saying is, Were going to try to scare people about Barack. So were going to say that you know, maybe hes got Muslim connections or were going to say that, you know, he hangs out with radicals or hes not patriotic. I know that Im not your typical presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., told executives and employees of the Schott glass company Friday afternoon, and I just want to be honest with you. I know that.

And his beloved friends, William Ayers and Reverend Wright. If media were fair, instead of repeatedly questioning Sarah Palin's vetting, they would apply the same question to Obama? By not doing so, the media has proven itself corrupt and unbelievable to the average American (they are gravely mistaken thinking we are not observing their bias).
My family, for instance, no longer watches network news (including PBS). There is not a shred of fairness amongst the lot of them. Enough is enough.
“...with a funny name.”
...and did I mention, she’s a girl?”
The quote, taken in context, doesn't quite say that. IIRC, the general implication was that if there were major unfounded attacks against Muslims (e.g. people started attacking anyone who looked vaguely Muslim) he would seek to defend the targets of such attacks. Hardly unreasonable.
There are many things he says in his book which, even in context, are pretty scary. The line you referenced about Muslims really isn't one of them.
Thanks...I’ve been finding that.
