All shared a moment of pride this week when Sarah Palin, the GOP's nominee for vice president, presented herself to the country as a "hockey mom" in an attempt to focus on the moderate suburban women who are so critical in this election. She may not have much time to drive the car pool anymore, but after years of driving her oldest son, Track, to practice, Ms. Palin insists she is one of them.
"I see her as someone I can relate to and who understands what I am going through in my life," said Ms. Rocha, who has three hockey-playing children. "And I am going out to buy one of those 'Hockey Moms for Palin" bumper stickers."
First Bill Clinton went after soccer moms. Then George W. Bush targeted Nascar dads. Now it's Ms. Palin, the gun-toting, Bible-thumping hockey mom from America's wilderness. These are codes of course, and rather oversimplified ones that not everyone appreciates, including plenty of hockey moms.

The “Hockey Mom” of our Eden Prairie, MN branch of the family -— and ALL the Moms I met at matches and functions around Eden Prairie are NOT a force to trifle with....
Something about the “breed” that renders them fearless, aggressive and intolerant of high sticking.

Obama and Biden have never dealt with the equal of enraged and determined “Hockey Moms”...

I ordered this book on Amazon last Friday...it was already backordered....but it is supposed to come next week. They are printing a lot more of them.
Getting up at 4:00 am because the only rink time available for team practice is at 5:30 am probably has something to do with their toughness as well.
