And, by the way, wasn’t Yushchenko the one who was poisoned and had blisters and scars on his face just a few weeks before their election?

Yes he was. I remember at the time in Britain it was reported he would recover at least in the short term but it may affect his health and possibly longevity.

Yep. He looks a lot better now, but I imagine there's some permanent scarring. The KGB are nice folks, aren't they? :-/

Something else interesting that you may or may not know. Yuschenko's wife Kateryna Yushchenko was born in the U.S. and she is a U.S, citizen. She worked in both the Reagan and the G. H. W. Bush administrations and she was a co-founder and the vice-president of Ukraine-USA Foundation.

The Yuschenko's are certainly the good guys.
