John McCain's campaign has suffered a Heart attack -- of the legal variety.
TMZ.com is reporting that Ann and Nancy Wilson are upset that their 1977 rock hit "Barracuda" was used without their permission in the Xcel Energy Center at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul.
The Heart duo has "fired off a cease and desist letter" to the McCain/Palin campaign, the gossip website is reporting this morning.

(I got it recorded to DVD)
They should be happy that their tired old song is reaching an audience.
Now I'm just waiting for John Fogerty to do the same, for their use of his "Centerfield."
They don’t own the song, Capitol records does, so eff them.
Ann and Nancy Wilson are two used up, drug ravaged, knuckleheads who should thank God they live in America.
They sure made plenty of dough here.
Hmmm - I am seeing them Sunday night. i wonder if the wife and I should wear McCain/Palin shorts to the concert? :-)
And that is why you will only see c&w acts at republican events.
Which is fine if you do like c&w.

Wow - it’s been a long day.
Perhaps the RNC could use “The Barracuda” by the soul group Alvin Cash & the Crawlers, from 1965.
Shouldn’t these has-beens be happy somebody even remembers them?
Not a flattering song either. Palin should use a Ted Nugent song, for sure.
“Oh, OK. We promise. We won’t use it during the 2008 Republican convention any more.”
Definitely yes and take a sign!
What about Chuck Berry? Is he a McCain guy?
OK, I will use my right as an American citizen and refuse to listen to or purchase any product put out by this band.
One more to my list of media, music and movies I boycott.
I guess ever penny counts when your a hasbeen trying to relive the ol days and attempting a come back. Some how I believe it is all political which is very stupid on thier part. A make believe LED ZEP if you ask me
I am sure the RNC paid the fee to the owners of the song.
Be ready to scream, “Shut up and sing!”
Exactly, the lib “artists” like to make a fuss, like Yoko Ono and others, but if they had any say, the Pretenders would have sued El Rushbo long ago for his theme song.
I love Sarahcuda, but those gals couldn’t bear the truth that Stevie Nick’s lipo doc was booked and couldn’t be seen before the inaugural.
I wondered why they didn’t just get Gretchen Wilson to perform it live. She does an incredible job on that song, and she was already there (she performed at the convention on Wednesday).
See her sing Barracuda here:
