Forget the polls done over the weekend... they are notoriously flaky.
The first polls that will mean anything this year will arrive next Thursday/Friday.
I think a good indicator that the base is ready to rock is the amount of money McCain is taking in. I didn’t like his speech at all, but it seems that he was trying to appeal to moderates and independents so we’ll see next week as you suggest how things have played out.
