'You Set Me Up for a Comeback' Yup. Now all he has to do is find a crack pipe, a hotel room, and a hooker and reelection is all but assured.
To: Westlander
Sadly, he’s probably correct.

Typical Dim hubris - "No matter how dirty I am, I can regain my power via the voters."
The sad part is he is probably right - the left wingers admire corruption.

I have no faith in the voters of Detroit. They seem to love their corrupt leaders. Barbara Rose-Collins, John and Monica Conyers, Coleman Young...

This dirtbag has been ordered to pay 1 million dollars back over his 4 year sentence.
Okay, 250,000 a year for a guy sitting in jail. The question the citizens should ask is where did a Mayor get that kind of money in the first place?

Help me. Are former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his mother, who is a US Representative for Michigan, Democrats? I have read several longish AP and ABC articles word for word, but don’t see their party identification mentioned anywhere. I know the Detroit area has a strong UAW. Is this their candidate?
With a last name of Kilpatrick are they Irish? Perhaps they are Independents like Buchanan.

I have no faith in the voters of Detroit. They seem to love their corrupt leaders. Barbara Rose-Collins, John and Monica Conyers, Coleman Young... Why not? It's not THEIR tax money being wasted. The mayor was mostly elected by people who pay no net taxes.
If Detroit's state and federal money was cut off, and they had to survive on what Detroit generated, it might be different.
