SurveyUSA: Palin Gets an 'A'
real_clear_politics ^

Posted on 09/04/2008 4:26:47 PM PDT by flyfree

24 hours ago, independent voters nationwide were split on whether Palin was an asset or a liability to McCain's campaign. Today, by a 2:1 margin, independents say Palin is an asset. Overnight, the percentage calling the Alaska governor an asset to the campaign climbed 13 points; the percentage calling her a liability fell 17 points.

The numbers are similar among moderates, who 24 hours ago viewed Palin as a liability by an 11 point margin; today, Palin is seen as an asset by an 18 point margin.

Betting Line Changes:

24 hours ago, when asked if they would bet on Obama or McCain becoming president, Obama was a 16:15 favorite; today, it's flipped, and McCain is favored by the same ratio.

Grading the Speech:

Of those who watched Palin speak last night, 60% give the speech a grade of "A." When those giving lower grades are factored in and a standard grade point average computed on a 4-point scale, Palin scores a "B," overall. Among Republicans, she gets an "A-;" among Independents, a solid "B;" among Democrats, a "C."

McCain will be our next President. The results flipped overnight. The Democrats are in in state of near panic. Let's make a rout!

The McCain List.

Last night, Sarah Palin set the political world on fire and acheived an enormous positive swing in opinion.

“Obama lost the election the second Palin was picked for VP.”

I said the same thing.

But I know, it is dependant upon ALL of us to do our part.

We have to earn it all the same.

It will be challenging.

Good grief! That’s like a 30 point swing among “independents” and “moderates”. I’d look for McCain to try to seal the deal with them tonight, though some of that will make me want to grind my teeth.

Do you think he knows it yet?

i think he lost it in berlin...

Essentially true, he sowed the seeds of his own defeat there. They are now coming ready for harvest. Before he left, it was his race to lose, and now, its McCain's race to lose. A 180 degree turnaround...

If he does that, he'll look like he's only using Palin's conservatism to buy our votes. He better plan on losing some if he's going to pander to the left some more. It's time he pander to THE BASE.

Palin doesn’t say: “Um .... err .... ahhh” in pauses.

Nobama, when not reading a speech off the teleprompter is full of such poor speech hesitations. One of his aides said that that was because he is “thinking.” HAHAHA!

The differences are like night/day. I hope we hear a lot more of her! Put Oct 2nd on your calendars folks!

Obama knows he's screwed.Sarah hit a home run on the speech and almost 38 million people watched her do it. And she did it with it being broadcasted on four less channels then NOBama.

While you are grinding your teeth think of the future....Palin 2012. We can survive 4 years of McCain, especially if he leans right with Palin on board. Then after that, 8 years of Palin and another eight with the conservative veep she chooses.

Victor Davis Hanson sums up the insanity, we are seeing from the Obama team and Obama mediots:

"If the post-Speech reaction of the talking heads at CNN, PBS and MSBNC, or the op-ed ravings of Gloria Steinem, Maureen Dowd, Eleanor Clift or Sally Quinn are any indication, the Secret Service better enlist the Alaskan National Guard for help ensuring the Alaskan Governor’s safety.

"A beautiful, confident, articulate, independent, accomplished—and conservative—woman apparently has enraged Team Obama, the mainstream media, and the entire American intelligentsia, as if they were collectively hit by a cruise missile aimed from Middle America.

When Palin talks about her present life it sounds as authentic as Biden’s showy populism came off as false. Enraged feminists are apparently the gatekeepers for less well-educated American women, who are supposed to have 0-1.5 children not 5! Their husbands must be professors, lawyers, CEOs, editors—not snowmobile champions, union members, oil workers, and fishermen—or, worse, all in one! And unlike a Pelosi, Quinn, or Clinton, Palin, God forbid, did not rely on a powerful, wealthy husband or father to energize her career. Worse still, she took no women’s studies class, never attended the Ivy League, and shoots moose. The danger is not just that Sarah Palin could win McCain the election, but she could expose the entire flimsy structure of doctrinaire liberalism as the hypocrisy—and chauvinism—it has become."

Missing from this great photo: Sarah’s son, who will be on active duty soon. Three of John McCain's sons, have have carried on the family military tradition, with Doug McCain serving as a Navy pilot, now out of the Navy, Jack McCain soon to graduate from the Naval Academy, and Jimmy McCain enlisting in the Marines at the age of 17. The latter returned home safely from his seven-month tour of duty in Iraq in February 2008

I would imagine the suicide hot lines have been lighting up since the speech.
