The group began endorsing presidential candidates in the 1980s and has done so in five of the past seven races, declining to endorse a candidate in 1992 and 1996.

And we got "the bent one." The NRA is a single issue organization, the Second Amendment. It can afford to be. We can't.

Stay home or vote third party. Don't be surprised with what you get.

he American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA) is an organization involved in advocacy for gun control.[1] Its critics claim that AHSA is a front organization aimed at dividing gun owners by pointing to AHSA members’ bias against private ownership of the most popular modern sporting firearms, and note AHSA leaders have donated money to gun control groups[2] and maintained ties to individuals and organizations who advocate gun control.[3

And Palin is what, an NRA rated A+?

Instead of throwing my vote away, I’ll happily support
McCain - Palin, knowing she is a strong 2A supporter.

Next step: equal (Alaska style equal not Illinois style) gun rights and concealed carry reprocity across all 57 states!

....what this guy wants is more free public hunting places and that’s gonna be hard given government budget issues...most guys spend more time hunting a place to hunt than they do in the field....the days of knocking on the farm house door and getting permission to hunt for free are about over....in the future it’s going to take more money than ever to hunt...leases, insurance, transportation costs, are all going up....noticed the spike in ammo costs this Fall?....consequently, hunter recruitment and hunter retention are the two biggest buzz words in wildlife management today.

And we won’t stop until the only gun law left in the nation is the Second Amendment.

Unfortunately, the AHSA view of gun rights is very similar to the Clinton/Boosh/HusseinObama/McCain/BATFE view of gun rights. IOW, the only purposes for owning guns are hunting and skeet shooting. Unfortunately, I’ve met WAY too many hunters and target shooters who seem to think that the 2A is related to their preferred pastime. A lot education is needed in that area.

Speaking of education, we are eventually going to lose our republican form of government and ALL of our constitutional rights if we don’t take back the education of our children from the pagan academies also known as communist government schools. Quite bluntly, if you are a Christian, a conservative, and/or a constitutionalist and your children are still sitting through 8 hrs of socialist indoctrination every day, you are (at best) sitting on the sidelines of the culture war.

McCain swung my vote by picking Palin. If he wants donations, he needs to pledge full independant investigations into the criminal activity being conducted by BATFE. He does that and promises to work to repeal the Unconstitutional bans that now exist and I’ll even get out and work for the man on the campaign.

Mike
