Re all the stepped up attacks on Sarah Palin: Just today a far left (leftover) wannabee hippie from the sixties acquaintance sent me a vile e-mail supposedly from some woman who has known Sarah since 1992. Blah blah blah — lots of trash about her and her lifestyle.

The clown who was shipping this around (self-described “word processor”) used his/her company e-mail address all attendant company info, and that company happens to be a well known law firm branch in San Francisco (of course). It’s a branch of Epstein Becker Green, and I replied to the clerk that I knew no matter the Partners’ views on the election (undoubtedly in the tank for Obamination), I doubted they’d be thrilled to know how this clerk was spending his/her time on their dime.

Then I also forwarded the e-mail to the Managing Partner of that office. And so it begins................

The merciless trashing of our candidate, Sarah Palin. They are desperate — but we are unmoved. Onward to November!

So very very true.
They care so little for the lives they destroy on a whim, not just in this case, but in so many cases every day around our country. They have no honor, respect, consideration or decency at all. To these types, the ends justify the means and the human casualties are of no concern to them in their quest for power, prestige and influence.

The interesting aspect of these prolific but unsupported attacks being made against Gov. Palin is that these are attacks more likely to HELP the target than to HURT her. That's because it is so easy for even average citizens to see that the attacks are a product of either bigotry against women, or bigotry against conservatives.

The bigotry against conservatives will solidify the base of the Republican Party. The bigotry against women is even more important because about 52%. The more women who realize that the chattering classes are attacking them -- ALL WOMEN -- the more trouble the Obama / Biden ticket will be in.

Furthermore, the hypocrisy of the MSM attacks on Gov. Palin will have long term effects, not just short term. Ordinary citizens, especially the female ones, will not easily forget the revealed bigotry of much of the MSM. Keep in mind I'm using the word "bigotry" in its classic sense. it is not bound to race, it means holding and expressing any opinion regardless of the facts, because the holder insists on hanging on to those false views.

IMHO, these attacks will not only fail, they will help the Republican ticket and hurt the Democratic ticket.

I don't think so. You've done yeoman's work here, giving us the ammo with which to refute arguments we'll undoubtedly hear over the next two months. Being able to tell people that what they're hearing is wrong, might must make them think twice before believing any other stories spread about her by Daily Kos, or any other other lefty blogs. This is very important if you have any young people with whom you have contact. They get a lot of their news from the blogs, so being able to refute them is great.
