Mark Steyn's right. Its not for nothing both Michelle and Barack hid their Ivy League education from the country during their convention! All of us are going to be surprised to find out how crowded the "downscale" end is of the voter continuum.

I’m sick of these elites. They don’t have a clue about “us.”

I’m a small town, tobacco-chewing, bass-fishing, deer-hunting, pickup-driving, Nascar-watching, Southern Baptist, redneck country boy from the Missouri Ozarks.

I’m also a country club member, a business owner, an advertising professional and writer/director. I played in the college symphony while serving as managing editor of a campus newspaper. My Mensa membership, however, has expired.

Just an average FReeper.

I’d stack a “panel” of average FReepers in any debate with these snobs.

Well, that, and also its hard to present yourself as victim when you've never been a victim. It forces you to hide who you are.

Frum’s wrong about the “more educated white voters”. Education comes not from Ivy League schools or books but from real experience with the real world and the ability to draw wisdom from those experiences. The Republican Party is full of educated people, whether they are high school dropouts or professionals with doctorate degrees, who recognize Sarah as one of their own. For example, this white woman with a Juris Doctorate is voting for her and so are my friends whose “education” ranges from fourth grade to post-doc in terms of formalities and from student, worker, full-time mom, electronics engineers, nuclear scientist, farmer, small business owner, grandfather, teacher, soldier, sailor, dad, mom, sister, brother in terms of real education.

It’s painful for them...the mental pretzel is no good place to be, no matter how morally flexible liberals think they are.

Poor David Frum. He didn’t know my father, a seventh grade dropout because he needed to help on the farm when he became 13. Dad was the wisest man I’ve ever known, and he put five children through college where we were educated but certainly never to the point of disrespecting the depth of his wisdom and the strength of his soul.

I feel sorry for ignorant educated folk such as Frum.

My background is BS (Michigan, physical science); MS (Michigan); PhD (MIT). Son (USAF). Daughter (USMC).

Just made the first contributions I have ever made to ANY political campaign to McCain/Palin.

Writers like this guy are idiots.

"Educated" today, so often means superficial and totally ignorant of real life.

I am not the brightest star, but I have a master's degree and an IQ of 130, so I may be able to be considered "educated" if not brilliant. I am in the process of having bumper stickers made up for the family, locally. One, for our children, says Roll Tide!/NOBAMA. The other will read MAVERICK/SARACUDA.

GOD LOVE AND BLESS ALL of US bitter, gun totin'(I DO),downscale, uneducated, unsophisticated citizens in red flyover country.

Keep on keeping on.

Having Ivy League credentials might make one an intellectual, but it does not necessarily make one intelligent (and I say that as someone with Ivy League undergrad and grad degrees).

Well, moral flexibility often leads to disjointed thinking. And they cannot understand why the “freedom” they think they are expressing actually feels like a whole lot of bondage.

The leftist academic elites will go for the academic marxist-trained Obama.

Real Americans will go for the Hero and the Hockey Mom.

I’ve got a PhD myself and more brains than Pelosi, Biden, and Reid put together (admittedly the bar aint that high with those 3).

I am far more comfortable with Palin as potential President than any Democrat. Her speech was a home run, well delivered.

Steyn shows how the elites just can't HELP themselves!! They're always denigrating the 'little people'.

Is this meme about 'educated voters' a Democrat talking point? Andrea Mitchell made a similar comment the other day, saying that educated women just won't vote for Sarah Palin. Oh really, Andrea? Most of the women I know are well educated, and many of them have already said they can't WAIT to vote McCain-Palin this year. I do hope the media stays clueless about this, then reels in disbelief as the landslide hits them on Election Night!

"downscale"

There is no underprivileged southerner on the Democratic ticket this year. With Edwards and Bill Clinton gone, they have a gap here. Biden was supposed to help close the deal for working-class white Democrats. Barack and Michelle will just have to try their best at sounding uneducated.

I'm a Columbia educated Freeper and I sure as heck won't be voting for Obama.
If the educated and new classes disdain traditional America, that is thier corruption decay and Treason of the Clerks.
