I noticed during the post speech coverage that many commentators were wondering out loud that maybe the Democrats may be having second thoughts about Biden vs. Palin. In listening to Rush this morning, he brought up the same thing, and I wonder if Sarah Palin has flipped the script and that the Democrats may be seeking a better match against Gov. Palin. Normally I would dismiss this, but this is a crazy election cycle and McCain has shown that he is continuing to out maneuver Obama in an election that should be a slam dunk for Dems and Obama may need a game changer. Any thoughts?
I don’t think so. He already has too much of a reputation of being an indecisive empty suit. That would confirm it. But he does need Hillary to campaign hard for him. She shouldn’t. It will be interesting to see what she decides to do.
Has anyone noticed FR is really slow? Do you think it has anything to do with everyone posting vanities? Honest question.
It was my first thought after she spoke in Dayton. Hillary won’t get on this sinking ship (though, maybe she will, since Palin represents her death along with Obama’s), but Kathleen Abortion might.
They have to be seriously considering it. Biden was a major blunder. It won’t help them though, other than to get them into a news cycle or two, along with comparisons to McGovern.
Lunchpail Joe could always suffer another convenient brain aneurysm and have to withdraw.
The Dems might want to dump Biden but Bambi would NEVER do so because, that would mean he has to admit he made a mistake, and as we have seen with The Surge, Bambi’s huge and fragile ego prevents him from doing that.
I doubt it. At least with Biden, Obama knows he doesn’t ever have to fear Ft. Marcy Park.
Plus, Hillary knows that if Obama wins, he’ll be a one-termer, regardless of whether or not she’s his VP. So why would she want to be on the ticket of a one-termer, when we’re sure to win in 2012?
IMHO, Hillary wants to be President now; not VP.
Obama can’t afford to make a move against Biden. After such a public (and dramatically heightened) announcement of Biden as his running mate, were he to dumo Biden now, it would confirm what we already know - Obama makes bad decisions and isn’t ready to lead. He has made his bed and has to sleep in it.
McCain/Palin has spectacularly outmaneuvered the Obamessiah and it is game, set and match. Obama is done.
If Mr. Obama replaces Mr. Biden, Mr. O is toast.
It will be seen as a sign of bad judgement and indecision(which would be true).
Mr. Zero wants the gig too much to drop Mr. Biden at this juncture.
OBAMA-SHEEHAN!!!
It would create more problems than it solves for Obama.
It comes down to debates now.
Obama is used to giving prepared speeches - he has not done much debating in the US Senate, none in the IL state senate, and has no courtroom experience as a lawyer.
Senator McCain has been mixing it up in the Senate for years and speaks decently on his feet.
Biden is a seasoned debater - but he specializes in nasty gotcha moments, a tactic that will make him look like an arserag in a debate with Governor Palin.
After the dust from the RNC settles, the main poll movers will be the debates and any last-minute scandals or revelations that the MSM can cook up.
Dan Rather's incompetence compromised the MSM's ability to convincingly do the latter.
They threw everything they could find at Palin this week.
They are having buyers remorse. Just who is supporting/funding Obomber? Beyond G. Soros we will likely find Russia and some Wahabai (Radical Islamists) funding and pushing this straw dog.
Doesn't matter. It's too late in the process. How many days until the election? 62 or 63?
If people think Hillary will step in, doubtful. Hillary hated Tipper Gore and Hillary was top banana in that relationship. Can anyone imagine Hillary or Bill playing second fiddle for 4 years to Obama and that scowling Michele? Even Obama couldn’t keep up with the Clinton ego. And she would be sabotaging her 2012 run which is underway.
#3, yes FR is slow at least on this end.
The way I see it is Obama’s screwed if he does drop Biden and he’s screwed if he doesn’t.
Nah....put Biden in a dress and put his plugs in a bun....the liberals will think he’s a mighty good looking liberal lady.....
The strangest thing to me about the Dems defense, they’re acting like Obama is running against Palin. I’ve not heard one comparison of Biden and Palen, but of Obama and Palen. When are they going to remember that Obama is running against McCain. Arguing experience against the VP is not a great strategy, but if that’s all you’ve got, guess you’ve gotta use it.
And then you’d see that Giuliani “I’d get that in writing” clip playing over and over and over again.
Obama would have to overcome “Hurricane Michelle” to allow Hildabeast on the ticket. Unlikely.
