(AP) - Republican presidential nominee John McCain began his final drive for the White House on Thursday with a boost from running mate Sarah Palin while Democratic opponent Joe Biden declared her family "off limits" and suggested that some news media coverage of her had been sexist.
Palin and her husband, Todd, announced this week that their 17-year-old unmarried daughter was pregnant and would be marrying her boyfriend, saying they were making a private matter public because of Internet rumors. Biden said the Democratic campaign was not attacking Palin over her family.
"It is off limits to talk about her family," Biden said in an interview with "Fox and Friends" on Fox News Channel. "Every family has difficulty as they're raising their children. I think the way she's handled it has been absolutely exemplary."

Family is NOT off-limits.
Minor children are.
Spouses and adult children are not.
Biden is trying to sweep Michelle Obama and his own family criminals in with Bristol to get protection.

They have been saying one thing in public and, as usual, doing quite another by pushing the information on liberal blogs.
They were cold-busted and called out on it by McCain on Monday.
You'll destroy the entire fabric of US Criminal Law if you put motives aside.

That’s right. Bidens kids aren’t “kids” anymore. They are adults and fair game, even better, they are leftwing moonbats, and even fairer game.

To my satisfaction, the person who developed the “dirty trick” of saying, “I telling every everyone, not to talk about ... “ was Richard Nixon in 1972. When it was disclosed that McGovern’s first pick for Vice President had some mental health issues, Nixon said “I’m telling everyone not to talk about Senator Eagleton’s history of mental health problems.” He said this again and agian, so that everybody got the message.
So he neglected the raising of his children to pursue his career as a windbag.
Now the son gets indicted for something sleazy and the daughter gets arrested for attacking a policeman.
If Biden had taken his child-rearing duties seriously, he could have imparted his stellar values to his spawn.

My memory did fail me and you are correct. It was John F’in Kerry (I THINK he was in Vietnam for a few months...) who tried to sully the Cheney family with the “supposed” angry conservative Christian base, that would not approve and then choose not to vote for Bush/Cheney as punishment for Cheneys daughter be “gay”.
For the DNC, there IS no level that is to low, in order to achieve their goals.
He said it, but his fingers were crossed when he did it. Same as BO’s fingers were crossed when he said the same thing.
I would say it this way:
Family members are off-limits unless they are active surrogates for the candidate and say or do objectionable things in the process of that (eg Michelle Obama’s ‘never proud of USA until this campaign’ comment), or say or do things that might reflect on the character of the candidate (eg Clinton’s pardon at the behest of a paid-off Hugh Rodham).
If Joe Biden’s kids are engaged in the kind of corrupt deal Hugh Robham had with President Clinton, its an issue.
The private affairs of candidates kids and relatives should not be a political football.
So now that the ghouls have trashed her husband, her daughter, her character, they shut the barn door.
Don’t be fooled by these people. I’ve watched Biden destroy people for years on the Judiciary Committee.
This is just plausible denial.
Biden and Obama are attempting to take the high ground, while their media minions do the dirty work, exactly like in the Chicago races.
Most of these rumors and lies originated on the internet, in the blogs that Obama bragged to have vetted for his convention. Now, if those blogs were all vetted, can’t it be assumed that they are operating with the full approval of the Obama/Biden campaign.
