Palin: Obama's three responses
Chicago Tribune Swamp Politics ^ | September 04, 2008 | by James Oliphant

** EXCERPT **

** snip **

Sarah Palin's coming out party has changed the dynamics of the race--and while the maxim is that veep nominees don't alter the fundamental electoral equation, there is no doubt that Palin's speech Wednesday night in St. Paul has the Obama campaign revving up the Payback Machine.

Here are some of the things it's doing:

1) Immediate comment. Last night, the campaign sent out this statement from spokesman Bill Burton:

"The speech that Governor Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush's speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we've heard from George Bush for the last eight years. If Governor Palin and John McCain want to define 'change' as voting with George Bush 90% of the time, that's their choice, but we don't think the American people are ready to take a 10% chance on change."

2) David Plouffe, Obama's campaign manager, sent out an email to supporters this morning asking for a $5 dollar demonstration to demonstrate their opposition to Republican attacks (and, of course, fund counterattacks, as well as show off the power of the fundraising apparatus).

3) Obama's walking into the belly of the beast. He's taping an interview with FOX's Bill O'Reilly Thursday afternoon to be aired in prime time on FOX tonight. He'll also appear tonight on Keith Olbermann's show.

Bill O’s MO is to invite experts onto his show so that he may interrupt them to tell them HIS opinion in their area of expertise.

Democrat supporter Murdoch has promissed Hussein that he will be treated “fairly”. If that means he will get the same treatment OR gave hillary, this will be a real gentle lovefest. I certainly won’t watch.

In my opinion, Laura’s shows are best when Monica Crowley is the host.

“....a 10% chance on change”

Sorry excuse for a catch phrase. You would really have to be mentally defective to vote for these guys based on merit and accomplishments.

I am so sick of hearing about “change”. The guy has not even DONE anything so how can he CHANGE anything. Change is about all we will be left with in our pockets if this JackAss makes it to the White House.

Obama attacks Palin as “inexperienced” despite her having more experience than him.

Now he attacks her as a good orator with “speech writers”.

Wow! Obama writes all his own speeches??? No? Well too bad, because if he did it would be known in common parlance as “having a leg to stand on”.

Bait nabbed, hook set, reeling in the Big Mouthed ^ass.

What a laugher. “Community Organizing” = Communism and wealth redistribution to the non-producers in our society. Palin speaks to those who WORK to make our nation great. Obama speaks to the takers and leeches who DRAG our nation down.

I have not listened to her radio show. I just like it when she is the guest host on bor. I did enjoy the short stint of ‘This Just In’ (or something like that) on Fox.

And it’s happening today in church basements and community centers and living rooms across America.

I am certain he meant to say in "hashish -filled Mosque basements", but figured it might be misunderstood...

Shocker of all shockers, Anderson Cooper on CNN actually took after the other “commentators” over the speech writer issue last night. They were talking about who wrote her speech for her, and Cooper actually criticized them for not bringing up the same questions when Biden and Obama were speaking. He said none of the candidates write their speeches, so it’s unfair to ask these questions of Palin when you don’t ask them of the Democrats.

I almost spilled my beer when I heard it.

McCain sat back like the professional he is and let the Dems have their convention. Contrast that to Obama's camp sending out a snotty, adolescent E-mail in response to the VP speech and then taping interviews in an attempt to step on McCain's speech tonight

McCain even waited until the "RAT Gathering" was over before announcing his VP pick. He gave them clear time to do their thing uninterrupted.

The Obama interview tonight is hitting below the belt, like a spoiled brat who can't win fairly. And shame on O'Reilly for showing it tonight.

What does that “voted 90% with GWB” mean anyway? He was asked about Palin’s speech. He should have just said, “I got nuthin’

The speachwriting talking point really helped ID which pundits were directly coordinating with the Obama campaign.

A very odd observation that was made immediately after the speach wrapped on multiple networks. I really don’t recall authorship of speaches being a valid point before - they’re all speechwritten.

McCain can use this BOR interview. His speech is after Obama’s interview. McCain can think on his feet, (remember Saddleback?) He should listen and take notes and then address everything Obama says. Make Obama look like an id10t. (shouldn’t be hard).
