Sarah Palin is a fresh-faced fishing and hunting wild card in the US presidential race. She just might be able to lure the media away from Obama. But can she attract enough voters from the Right to make up for those she might lose McCain in the Center?
Who is Sarah Palin? More importantly, what does McCain's pick for vice president think or know about foreign policy? Even after her speech at Wednesday's Republican National Convention she remains both a mystery and a subject of intense curiosity. She is by turns characterized as a savior of the Republican party, an enormous mistake and something in between.
"Here's how I look at the choice Americans face in this election," said Palin during her speech Wednesday. "In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers, and then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change."
Some, however, see her very candidancy as a cheap ploy to steal some of the limelight from a charismatic opponent. Palin's family drama and allegations of have certainly splashed her name all over the media. "Our family has the same ups and downs as any other, the same challenges and the same joys," said Palin at the convention as she introduced her husband and five children -- including her pregnant 17-year-old daughter.

Well, the election is a contest of sorts, isn't it? Sheesh!
Oh, no, the Germans aren’t happy? Well, they can VOTE for their favorite candidate. Oh, wait, they aren’t even citizens. Well then tough doodoo.
“Even after her speech at Wednesday’s Republican National Convention she remains both a mystery and a subject of intense curiosity.”
Really? They must not have seen the same speech that I did.
The krauts don’t get it. Surpize, surprize.
None are so blind, as those who refuse to see...
Ach! Obama’s fawning Kraut Komrades from “Der Spiegel” chime in with their Kommentary.
It’s over for Obama in ‘08, and Hillary for the next 12 years, and they know it. They better have 50 Secret Service agents around Palin at all times.
Der Spiegel a german Newspaper whose journalists went in Berlin to cheer the “citizen of no where”
Authored by staff???
LOL!!!
What a bunch of girly-boy cowards.
Want to put some money on that? A better headline would be: Sarah Palin Will Cost The Democrat Party Dearly
Lol....the panic of the mindless without moral virtue is obvious.
;-) Palin Power!!!!
Yawn.
Just glad socialist Europeans can't vote.
I’d kindly suggest that the Germans are clueless about middle America.
“The krauts dont get it. Surpize, surprize.”
This is what she gets for not holding a free concert and beer rally there.
The german press doesnt love Sarah? i guess this will nullfiy the lefty American MSM from portraying her as a nazi.
The media has never been able to distiguish between charisma and substance. The were enthralled with Bill Clinton’s charisma to the point where they openly admired his ability to lie.
Sarah embodies what’s best in the American Spirit. It is not surprising that she makes “sophisticated” Europeans uneasy.
Gov. Palin will cost the RINOs dearly.
Sarah isnt enough like Eva Braun for the Germans liking.
Bitter EU clinger, ehhh ...
