It’s a good thing that we won World War Two, but it’s a bad thing that civilians had to die. We’re no longer at war with Japan, why not foster friendship?

She can do it without visiting Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

Welcome to FreeRepublic.com.

We are friends with Japan now.

In WWII Japan was our enemy.
Bombs were dropped in WWII
to stop the war.

Anyone who does not understand
why Pelosi’s actions were not appropriate;
probably doesn’t understand history and/or
is a democrat.

Japan is now our ally. However, we could have lost WW2.

If we had lost--- you would never have posted your response in the 1st place. You might not even be alive.

good point...I agree...but Nancy Pelosi is not the appropriate (my opinion) person to do it. That’s what the State Department is for.

She has presided over the most do nothing Congress in the history of the Republic - she is singlehandedly preventing oil and gas drilling - yet she has time to travel to Japan?

Again - I have nothing against fostering good relations with the Japanese - but she thinks she’s the President or something. If Bush can go to China - I can go to Japan.
