Well worth reading. While Carter is a senile old coot who hates his country, Gravel is actually an isolationist patriot who was born 50 years too late.

Great find. A 2008 Dem Presidential candidate gives the nod for Palin’s creds. Well done, and nice find.

Watch for the Obama-MSM-Axis to try and destroy Gravel next. He seems to be sort of a Ron Paul of the left, I’m sure they consider him expendable. Make room under the bus!

He said he wouldn’t vote for McCain [and Palin].

Thanks for finding that!
I’m sure she’s gonna get a full suite of “experienced” beltway advisers but she seems to start so unfettered of DC and corrupt political machines - it’s refreshing and quite different from Obama and Biden. Time will tell what happens to her.

I disagree with Sen Gravel on most things but have to admit that was a fair piece. He seemed optimistic about her chances.

That's his prerogative. He said very good things about Sarah Palin, but said he didn't like McCain. He was clear about what he disagreed with. I have no issue with that. His vote is his to make. It's a free country last I checked.

Sure, I disagree with him on several things, but, he's managed to say what he likes about Sarah Palin, and say why he still isn't voting for that ticket, without attacking anyone's family. Much more than most of the Dems/MSM can say.

I didn't see this as complimentary to Sarah, except that he was saying she's a real person, not a phony. He admits he's not going to vote for McCain, because of McCain's support of the use of the American military in what Gravel considers American Imperialism. He hopes that Sarah won't get corrupted by that outlook.

Too late, Mike, she supports the War on Terror, so, in your mind, she HAS already been corrupted.

If he’s still voting in Alaska, it won’t much matter, will it? I still think his observations are interesting and not your typical lieberal talking points.

That's his prerogative. He said very good things about Sarah Palin, but said he didn't like McCain. He was clear about what he disagreed with. I have no issue with that. His vote is his to make. It's a free country last I checked.

The reality is that the compliments are meaningless. If Gravel doesn't vote for her, but instead votes for Obama, it doesn't help Palin. I am not disputing his right to vote or how he votes. It appears Gravel, a former Senator from Alaska, is just supporting a home girl, nothing more.

Sure, I disagree with him on several things, but, he's managed to say what he likes about Sarah Palin, and say why he still isn't voting for that ticket, without attacking anyone's family. Much more than most of the Dems/MSM can say.

Gravel is an idiot and loose cannon. His performance during the Dem primaries showed how extreme he really is. He is part of the blame America crowd who sees this country as a force for evil and destruction in this world. For example, This role of trying to influence the world with our military might sustains bloated defense budgets that profit the few and impoverish the social and economic needs of the many.

Sorry, but I would be very wary of any compliments from this nut case as I would Kucinich and some of the others on the far Left. Gravel is using Palin as a vehicle to continue his attacks on Reps, the neocons, Wall Street, the military-industrial complex, etc. Here are some backhanded compliments re Palin:

I strongly disagree with her views on abortion, creationism, stem cell research and a host of extreme conservative views that are a product of her environment...Sarah has issues. What politician doesn’t? Hers are a product of family loyalty and insufficient knowledge of politics and governance.
