A 17-year-old girl having sex with her boyfriend and getting pregnant is suddenly not only everybody’s business, but the most shocking thing to happen since the Beatles broke up. Could it be because she’s the daughter of the Republican VP nominee, a woman who is not only pro-life but pro-abstinence? Call me cynical, but I think there’s a connection here....

I don’t want to create a vanity thread to ask about a baseless rumor so I’ll just do it in a comment to this one. Believe me when I say that I’m not trying to gin up trouble with this post. If that were case I would’ve plastered it on the front page in all caps.

Today a coworker told me that Sarah Palin signed a petition supporting secession for Alaska. When pressed she couldn’t say for sure where she heard it or give any details, just that she saw it on the internet.
Is this true or not? I could care less if it is, it doesn’t make a lick of difference to me, but I am curious. Especially since it’s the kind of thing I could see the vultures on CNN and MSNBC having a field day with, even if she only signed it as a young adult/teen.
Now the leftwing press ( WaPo) is pushing the tabloid story that Palin had an affair

Was trumped in spades by her six year old sister who on the world stage with her new friend John McCain by the hand, pointed to amazing things in the cheerong crowd. Who in a quiet but highly visible moment, lovingly licked her hand and patted down the hair of her baby brother.
All attempts to smear big sister will be wiped off the slate by the precocious 6 year old.
