Web Site With Speeches and Sermons From Palin's Former Church Shuts Down
abc "news" blog ^ | 9/3/08 | Web Site With Speeches and Sermons From Palin's Former Church Shuts Down as Religious Views of Candi

Posted on 09/03/2008 3:20:17 PM PDT by mathprof

Officials of Gov. Sarah Palin's former church, Wasilla Assembly of God, in Alaska, shut down part of their Web site Wednesday, stating that their server could not handle the higher-than-normal traffic.

The part of the Web site no longer functioning appears to be the section where the sermons of senior Pastor Ed Kalnins were available, including one from 2004 -- after Palin left the church -- where he suggested heaven wasn't necessarily in the cards for anyone who voted for John Kerry.

Also no longer available is the video of a speech Palin delivered in June at the graduation service for the church's School of Ministry.

"WasillaAG.net was never intended to handle the traffic it has received in the last few days," says a message on the church Web site. "Due to technical limitations, WasillaAG.net will be unavailable for the immediate future."

Palin attended Wasilla Assembly of God from her teenage years through 2002. She and her family now attend Wasilla Bible Church.

Srutiny of Palin, ever since she was named Sen. John McCain's vice presidential running mate last Friday, has brought attention to all aspects of her biography.

"We have had some inquires into Gov. Palin's beliefs," a statement from Wasilla Assembly of God reads. "We do know that Gov. Palin is a woman of integrity. She is a servant of the people, she is a strong leader. As for her personal beliefs, Gov. Palin is well able to speak for herself on those issues.

"As Alaskans, we are excited about our governor being selected as the nominee for vice president," the statement continues. "As residents of Wasilla, we are ecstatic about one of our own being thrust to the national forefront. However, as a church, it is not appropriate for us to endorse any one candidate over another."

“including one from 2004 — after Palin left the church”

I don’t believe Obama had left his church yet when his pastor damned America.

Obama only left after the Rev Wrongs sermons started to cause trouble. Before he said something like he could no more leave his church than ...

It will be an interesting contrast. Palin’s church v. Oba-messiah’s church sermons.

Could make a good ad.

I couldn’t revisit the website for the hospital where Trig was born either. I guess the loonies working for the Salvadoran Stink Weasel are swamping the sites and causing them to shut down.

It's worse. People at her church believe in God. Can you imagine? That's it. Game over. She's toast...

This news is a sham. Everyone knows the reason they shut down is because Sarah’s’ pastor makes Reverend Wright look like a laid back Baptist Sunday School teacher.

His sermons are so intense and fiery that they are one of the reasons the artic ice is melting.

Seesh, WHAT are they hiding?????

A sermon given AFTER she left the church.

That’s like blaming me for a fight that broke out after I left the bar.

Maybe some of the media will be converted if they keep watching and listening.

The funny part is, over on DU they are encouraging people to attack her to Christians by talking about how she works for some sort of weird ‘homogeneous’ Christian sect- to us, that is known as non-Denominational, but they don’t understand it.

There’s another thread here that has some of the quotes that are so ...ehem offensive (whatever)...

Somehow I don’t think the author of the article gets the difference between a REAL Christian sermon and Reverend Wright’s Anti-Christian sermons.

Compare Wright’s “no, no, no not God Bless America, God d*** America” to Pepper’s “The purpose for the United States is… to glorify God. This nation is a Christian nation.”

Gee I think I’ll take Pepper’s version thanks...
