He’ll run for Governor and win. /sarc off.
5:17 update....
(WXYZ) Action News spoke with Maria Miller, spokesperson for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office that the “imminent” plea deal with Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is gone.
Miller would not say why the possible deal that was announced just 25 minutes ago is not going to happen.
She did say negotiations are still going on and both sides will be back in court tomorrow at 9am for a docket conference on both of Kilpatrick’s felony cases.
He’ll look good in an orange jumpsuit.
If I were the judge I’d max him out. There is no excuse for a government official committing perjury, and it should be dealt with in the most harsh manner available.
He IS outstanding. Outstanding at conspiracy, perjury, obstruction of justice, misconduct in office, and felony assault.
‘swhy he got noticed:)
a-a-a-a-a-hhhh !!!
it took all the way to 10 posts for the Correct-uh-mundo answer
(( and I betcha he gets to walk , .. .. well , maybe 6 months , ... “OH!!! THE HORROR!!!!” ))
At this rate, Kurt Russell will soon be starring in "Escape From Detroit."
Obviously this was nothing more than a racist prosecution of an honorable black man.
Yeah, Carl Levin’s getting long in the tooth...maybe Kwame can get his seat.
If he were a conservative, he’d be done for. As a Dem this is merely a resume enhancer.

Plea deal imminent in Kilpatrick case; Hearing to continue
By Bill Shea
LAST MODIFIED: 5:45 p.m., Sep. 3, 2008
Gov. Jennifer Granholm will continue with the hearing on the possible ouster of Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick until he is out of office, said Liz Boyd, the governor's press secretary.
Boyd had no other details.
The hearing began Wednesday morning at the request of the city council. A news alert from the Wayne County Circuit Court that Kilpatrick was expected to plead guilty in the text message case came shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, an event that was later moved to Thursday morning.
Kilpatrick will appear before Judge David Groner at 9 a.m. No details on the plea have been made public, and it's unknown if an agreement with the Wayne County prosecutor has been reached.
Today's hearing is expected to wrap up for the night shortly. Kilpatrick lawyer Sharon McPhail is several hours into questioning whistle-blower lawsuit attorney Mike Stefani when news of the likely plea broke.
Granholm was not expected to make a press statement Wednesday evening. -END-
Oh no! I posted the Crain’s thing before I saw your post. No wonder Grandmole wasn’t going to comment tonight.
“wonder what all of his supporters will say?”
That’s easy:
‘At least, he’s got more experience that Gov. Palin.’
