Didn’t Noonan have a pro-Palin article today?
I think there’ll always be a pol who would hire Murphy because the Pol can determine the ideas and Murphy just has to run the media side.
As for Noonan, this dumb move will certainly cost her a few bucks if she writes a book because lots of us potential customers won’t buy and lots of conservative talk radio won’t be plugging it very hard.
She will still probably keep her token “conservative” role on NBC however. That’s precisely what they’re looking for.
See Newt Gingrich’s interview from last night for the kind of bold and direct commentary NBC doesn’t want. Noonan...no problem.

How is it cynical? How is it more cynical than running with Romney or Pawlenty would have been? Lieberman may have been McCain's favorite pick, but there are people out there who'd fight that choice cynical as well.
I also don't get the bit about "narratives." Or at least I can't see Peggy Noonan as somebody who can look down on "narratives" in politics. She was always more about imagery than ideology, so "narrative" should be right up her alley.
The MSM when not attacking Sarah have been saying in effect that she needs " to hit one out of the park tonight".
Meaning if she is good, that will not be enough.
I will vote McCain & Palin.
But if she says "Um" one time, she will be denounced as a moron.
I strongly believe that she can and will do great.

Ouch. Not that a lot of us, regardless of whether we ultimately like the pick, haven’t had some of the same concerns. McCain wasn’t playing it safe with this pick. He was swinging for the fences and its too soon to say whether or not this pick is a homerun or a strikeout. Clearly it is a homerun with the base but will the swing voters be attracted to the pick? Or are we paying way too much attention to the importance of a VP pick in people’s decision making process?
Never believe these people until you have the facts.

One result of all the negative coverage is that the bar has been set very low for her. All she has to do is have an okay speech to be seen as better than expectations.

So I like Mitt Romney- sue me. We wouldn’t be dealing with these distractions right now if Mitt had been chosen. That’s the good thing about choosing someone who has already gone through the presidential election wringer like Mitt has- the hostile press wouldn’t even bother to dig for dirt on him because he’d already been through the process.
I think most of this stuff on Palin is as bum rap from the liberal media. But we knew they were out there waiting to pounce- this pick just plays into their hands. Now no one is talking about Ayers or Wright or Rezko, it’s Palin this, Palin that.
That's it. No more benefit of the doubt. I'm done with her. (Not that I'll miss seeing her much since she's on PMSNBC.)

McCain can certainly win my appealing to conservatives. he was at high risk for losing if he did not.
Obama won states that were in the eccentric liberal orbit. Hillary won states that were centrist.
Moderate Republicans are grotesquely lazy and sell outs. They cannot perform basic campaign tasks such as ground campaigning.
Noonan is a northeastern snob who wants friendship within the media elite more than principal. She does not want to end up like Joe Scarborough.
Team Obama, which doesn’t even have an American candidate, will no doubt use this for a commercial.
UNLIKE, John McCain who has sat on his ass during this assault on a fine Governor that brought us all on board!
I will say it, Republicans blew it when they nominated the Media’s candidate, who they have defanged over the years.

The finality of this is cemented is the Right’s inability to vet opposition candidates and then use the information they find, becoming wusses.
It’s good to see that Fox News held back when it had the Jesse Jackson tape, and McCain has never questioned Obambi’s Associates.
The High Road will take us right to the (USSA) United States of Socialist America where we are taxed to death, abortions are free, and we support a welfare state while awaiting our next election run by the UN.
We have been thoroughly outplayed and if this keeps up....
