Thanks to this B-list actor for providing the Hollyweird take on military service and honor.
Apparently he is unaware that the Code of Conduct precludes taking parole or special favors from the enemy.

Actors and actresses keep thinking they’re important.... they aren’t.

I think this squirrel is mixed up. It’s an officers duty to try and escape, not take parole.

Disgraceful.
I used to like Modine after “Vision Quest” and “FMJ” (the first half, actually).
Now, when I see his straight-to-video releases, I’m glad his career has tanked. Another example that Obama supporters, and Hollyweird, just don’t get it.

That kind of loyalty has earned McCain endless accolades, but Modine thinks that McCain's rejection of the release offer is yet another example of McCain's shortcomings. "And he wasn't even a good prisoner of war," said Modine. "He should have left as soon as he could. That's what you're supposed to do as a prisoner of war: Leave when you can. It defeats the enemy. It makes them look bad and it weakens them."If there were any doubts that Matthew Modine is an idiot, he has put them to rest.

Obviously Modine has never watched Hogan’s Heroes. I figured he would since it seems like most of his knowledge comes from watching TV and movies.

"I mean, he got shot down three times!" said Modine, taking on one of McCain's most lauded personal accomplishments. Three times? Meanwhile, Modine's had 20 years of bombs at the box office.
This is like seeking flotation advice from Sean Penn.

Escape makes them look bad.
What a moron.

He’s prolly right, McCain obviously was flying his sorties without having the plane’s shields up. What was he thinking?
To: seanmerc
He should have left as soon as he could. They were under orders not to leave early under those circumstances. Simple as that.
