Chris Mathews, who announced this retraction, just said on MSNBC that the feeding frenzy seems to have only resulted in a minnow.

Everyone should have known that it was just leftwing, politcal BS when it showed up in the New York Times. That’s all they print.

So Palin may have voted for a fringe 3rd party candidate in the past. This is a scandal how?

Where is this buried? Sure doesn’t look like it’s on the a front-page.

Front page piece in the NY Slimes? The damage is already done. Expect the one paragraph retraction in about a week and a half on page D16.
business as usual at the Slimes.

Doesn't matter. Liberals still believe in plastic turkeys and they will continue to insist that Palin was a member of this party throughout her 16 years in the upcoming administrations.
To: icwhatudo
They could have checked her registration to verify the story before publishing.
Aside from this story, they have much more they need to admit to.
To: icwhatudo
The NYT printed a story that wasn’t fully vetted? How can that be?

Credit to “CaptainK” who found the link after I mentioned hearing Mathews mention this as breaking on MSNBC.

Please post comments on that Times site. I doubt they’ll let many through, but in the irony of ironies the Times rips on McCain for not vetting Sarah Palin. Now we find out the NY Times didn’t bet this story. What a piece of trash newspaper.

Seems like a pattern with the NYT - shoddy reporting when it comes to anything about McCain - remember when they implied that JSM was having affair with lobbyist?
Screw them!

"Where is this buried? Sure doesnt look like its on the a front-page." it's on a poorly spelled blog ("succession" from the union?)
In other words, the NYT stands by yet another lie.
