SALEM - Less than a month after a sex scandal sent former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards in to political exile, the ex-North Carolina senator and his wife, Elizabeth, have pulled out of a speaking engagement at Salem State College.
The couple had been scheduled to appear as part of the college’s popular Speaker Series on Sept. 23 to discuss the upcoming presidential election and Elizabeth Edwards’ battle with cancer.

Elizabeth is hurt, like a normal wife would be. Hillary, on the other hand, was not...
I suspect that Elizabeth did not know about that series of one-night stands in 2006 when she started campaigning with him. I think she probably would have chosen to spare us that guy. His ambition and narcissism is beyond belief. I also think she has to be tired of pretending and play-acting.
Don’t worry. The replacement speakers are Bill and Hillary Clinton speaking on traditional family values.
That should sell a lot of tickets.

Elizabeth is scheduled to speak in Pittsburgh at some women’s conference sponsored by Fast Eddie Rendell’s wife, Midge.
Not sure how that’s going to play out.....
Edwards doesn’t want attention drawn from the smear of Bristol ... IMO.
That sucks! I wanted to hear his “2 America’s” speech.
The guy’s ego and ambition knows no bounds - he feeds off of it. He will find a way to spin his whole affair into a profitable venue for himself (and find enough sheeple to support him on it).
