Morris obviously hasn't seen the polls numbers from the weekend showing Obama moving up to hit 50% and McCain dropping to 42% in Gallup's latest poll. The issues with Palin definitely have affected this race. It remains to be seen whether the McCain campaign can overcome them.

“Morris obviously hasn’t seen the polls numbers from the weekend “
My guess is he has seen them. The difference is he actually understands how to read them. It’s a game of expectations and Obama’s bounce was less than and anticipated and at best on par with historical averages. Plus McCain’s favorable ratings went up with Republicans and Independents after the Palin pick. But it is still to earlier from folks to switch from undecided to McCain until they see more of Palin.

I am not convinced that Obama’s recent move to 50% is because of the Palin attacks. Here’s why: the surprise pick blunted Obama’s convention bounce, but only momentarily. What you’re seeing now is the same bounce you would have seen if McCain had gone with someone conventional and boring as a running-mate.
It is a theory, at least, and only time will tell.

Gallup has been polling registered voters, and it historically overstates Dem numbers and understates Pub numbers. Other, more accurate polls (e.g., Rassmussen, Zogby) use likely voters, and they show a statistical dead heat. Remember to that the Obama, the lead Marxist Brother, consistently over-polled in the primaries; people who said they were going to vote for him did not. That likely will happen again in the general — there's a significant slice of the voters who will vote for a black man, just not this one.

The McCain campaign need not worry over these premature poll numbers, the dimwits will take care of that themselves

Maybe....
I think Morris is right. This is going to bite them in the @ss. Let’s see the polls that reflect the responses.
