weekend polls? think about that. We just had Labor day.
EXACTLY!
It took 3-4 days for the DNC convention bounce to show up in the numbers, but the chicken little folks believe that the “pregnancy controversy” appeared instantaneously in the polling! Let alone in a poll taken on a HOLIDAY??
I am no statistician, but effects in polls don’t appear instantly.. you can have a percent or two swing in a daily poll with no event to speak of. You also can’t trust a weekend poll, let alone one done over a 3 day weekend.
The only thing the poll numbers today show is that Fauxbama did get a convention bounce, the internals show that this is mostly due to consolidation among democrats than by any movement by the swing voters or republicans going to the left.
Barack took his entire convention to get 80% support among his own party faithful, McCain was at that same level before his convention. Nothing in these polls today show any general trending, or even an end of the slow and general trend toward McCain in state by states.
Next tues or weds we will know the state of the campaign, the RNC convention will be over, and the bounce from that will be known. Any numbers between now and then are going to just confirm a insanely modest bounce by the Democratic candidate following the DNC convention. Something anyone producing oxygen should expect, nor be scared about.
Palin’s daughter’s pregnancy and the sheer nastiness of the leftwing bloggers and MSM regarding it is going to backfire, it is not going to help Fauxbama, but these folks are so blinded by hatred they can’t see acting like rabid dogs will not endear them, or the candidate they are backing, to the public.
Those wringing their hands over these numbers today, call me in a week and we’ll talk.
