Interesting analysis, although I dispute his assertion that Obama is the most brilliant candidate ever. The guy is not particularly bright, as can be shown by his lack of achievements, but he is extremely aggressive and extremely self-centered. He’s turned his presidential run into what everything else becomes for him: an exercise in self-expression and self-aggrandizement through emotional manipulation and, when that doesn’t work, deviousness. This is what enables him to get ahead, even though he has absolutely no real accomplishments.
But Spengler does analyze the source of his attraction, which is that Obama is a sociopathic personality who can gain everybody’s confidence by somehow making them think he is speaking to them personally, on the same wave-length with them, regardless of his actual words. A sociopath has no core of being; all of his life is devoted to getting others to do his will simply because that is what makes him feel real. He is not subject to the rules of his society and has no inner moral or ethical restraints. But this is precisely the thing that makes sociopaths such effective con-men.
The person Obama has always made me think of is the main character in “Six Degrees of Separation.”

Excellent analysis. I agree that Obama appears to be a sociopath. Abandoned by both his mother and father and confused about his own identity, Obama is angry and distant when it comes to relating to people. I found it especially telling that during the Dem convention, there were no personal friends of Obama who could talk about their personal experiences with Obama, whether it was in school or on the streets of Chicago. Obama is a loner who fits the

Obambi is not an intellectual heavyweight, not by a longshot. What he is, though, is an arrogant opportunist of the highest order.

Hitler was a sociopath and BTW ran on the same kind of "Hope and Change" platform as B.H.O.Check it out. No specifics, just "Hope and Change".
