Bill is not showing positive response for Sarah Palin. I did not agree with what he had to say tonight at all. I agreed with Morris on this one. I don’t think Bill understands Main Street America.
Bill is an idiot. I haven’t regularly watched him since about 2001, and that’s because my ex-husband liked the torture.
what did he have to say? i simply cannot stomach FoxNews any longer...
He basically said that the left is basically digging themselves into a hole with this issue. His view is that the longer the left continues down this path, the more sympathetic parents will be toward the Palin’s.
I agree with your view of Dick Morris’ view. Sarah is more mainstream than the Demos realize.
Isn’t she just one of those misguided folks clinging to her guns and religion?
(according to the anointed one?)
O’Reilly takes himself far too seriously.
He holds himself in such high regard. Every night he acts as if Obama hasn’t passed some sort of presidential test by not appearing on his program, and sometimes seems to even whine about it.
I enjoyed watching O’Reilly seven years ago. Now, he’s just annoying to me.

PALIN DESIGNATION NULLIFIES OBAMA BOUNCE
By Dick Morris
09.1.2008
It is incredible, but the designation of Sarah Palin as McCains running mate seems to have totally obliterated Obamas bounce from his convention and after his magnificent speech. Zogby actually has McCain two ahead and Rasmussens Friday only data shows Obama only three up! This confirms what we have suspected that the linkage of McCain and Bush was the weak link in Obamas convention. By showing how different he is and by taking the step of choosing an independent, outspoken, gutsy, reformist candidate like Palin as vice president, McCain has shown how much he is the un-Bush. Bush chose Cheney. McCain chose Palin. That, apparently, says it all.
Palin, who I know personally, is articulate and very bright. She has courage and defied the entire corrupt Republican establishment in Alaska, causing the resignation of the State Party Chairman, the Attorney General, and the defeat, in a Republican primary, of the Governor (whose daughter is the Senator). She is very impressive up close and has a freshness and newness in her perspective that reminds one of a cold, bracing, clear Alaskan wind!
I had expected that Obamas bounce would be nullified after an entire week of the Republican convention. But now its happened in one day! In fact, we will never know how big Obamas bounce was since his speech was late on Thursday and Palin was appointed during the day on Friday, so no evening polling was possible in between. My guess is that had there been a poll on Friday and Palin not chosen until Saturday, it would have recorded a 10-15 point Obama bounce. But that is gone with the wind!
This gigantic shift in voter support puts the postponement of the opening days of the Republcan Convention into a new perspective. If the hurricane turns out to be manageable and New Orleans does not, in Obamas words, drown, it will be as effective for McCain as a good first day or two of a convention. How dramatic that the very location where Bushs reputation fell apart could be the place for a Republican comeback. Granted Gustav is a smaller storm than Katrina, but the reinforced levies and more comprehensive evacuation plans highlight the difference three years and a lot of lessons learned have made.
Bill O’luffah is a typical bloviator cut from a Ted Baxter mold....only Baxter was entertaining.
Has Obama appeared on his show yet?
O’Reilly and Hannity smacked Kos tonight, but failed to rebuke Alan Colmes for accusing Palin of causing her Down Syndrome condition.
Exactly. I thought Fox News generally ignored the fact that one of the perpetrators of the Palin smear job is on their own staff, and is getting away scot free. When he was called on it, his defense was to whine that he was just questioning her judgment exactly the way the Right questions Obama's judgment. 'Conservatives have no right to ask who the Magic One's friends and ministers are' . It's the argument of a third grader.
Not even a mention from Hannity, which is very disappointing to me.
I am just wondering how Rush is taking all of this. What kind of show will we be expecting on Tuesday?
O’Reily is on my personal “beef” list after smearing FR.
If he went back to NY (I don’t think he did BTW) then he should say he painted Olbermann all wrong, as he did the same thing (hid in NYC).
As for his opinion of Sarah, well, have her as a guest, she has more guts then the Obama does she’ll appear.
“and he hasn’t disappointed us since then.”
are you talking about dick morris or bill o? if the former - well, dick has ALL the dirt on the clintons (having been with them for 20 years as an advisor/strategist)and is happy to tell it, often. the guy is VERY smart, albeit cynical (which comes, I guess, from truly understanding high-stakes politics).
” enjoyed watching OReilly seven years ago. Now, hes just annoying to me.”
He still makes me (often) laugh. Don’t think that he doesn’t know what his “schtick” is and that a lot of his “commentaries” aren’t done with humor, but it’s really subtle, even down to his inflection and tone of voice. And his Wed. night spot of Dennis Miller (whom I adore!!!) alone is worth the viewing.
betcha it will be good!
“Has Obama appeared on his show yet?”
hell to the no!!! it’s a regular subject of discussion. this will never happen. b. hussein obama is a true coward. i have to give hillary snaps for at least doing a long interview on bill o - and it was civil on both sides.
