These are not peaceful protestors, they are fascist criminals attacking the very bedrock of the democratic system. ANY level of force would be justified in preventing this.

I have to ask. Why didn’t the RNC decide to have this convention in Texas. Liberal (ironic yes?) carry laws would makes these “protestors” think twice about engaging in violence.

These developmentally arrested people are looking for their Andy Warhole time in the spotlight. I'll bet if you stopped and interviewed 50% of them, they wouldn't even know what they are protesting...the other 50% would recite the same dem talking points, ad infinitum.
It's a shame there couldn't be a few thousand conservatives surrounding the convention center with axe handles...after all, we're the ones who always demand our right of self-protection.
In olden days, if an "army" of ragtag sycophants attacked an American institution and tried to circumvent our rights, a Militia would have formed and sent them packing.

Forgive me for what I’m about to write is not really directed at you.
THESE PROTESTS NEVER HAVE BEEN ANTI-WAR. They have always been anti-American or anti-Western. Even in some obscure ‘causes’ you find out it’s really about perceived American involvement that draws these people out, not the cause itself.
Anarchists of the sort here are the Leftist Anarchists who have a different game plan but the same end point of the stateless communist society. IN that way, they are like the Anarchists in Spain during their civil war. They are not anarcho-libertarians/capitalists, certainly.
And like most radical Leftists these days, they are domestic terrorists, traitors and absolutely OK with any violence that furthers their cause. I could actually respect someone if they TRULY only opposed a particular government action (or ALL government actions, not just those by Republicans) but that is absolutely not what these people are about.
Anyone recall any large ‘anti-war’ marches during the whole Kosovo affair?

Words are worth nothing. Busted a@@ and jail is something. They a complete background on each arrested and their assets confiscated to pay for the damage.

I though all these lefties were for “peace”. Meet the new fascists, same as the old fascists.

And yet Slashdot.org was screaming “fascism” yesterday about the cops that busted anarchist groups that were preparing for this kind of stuff.

CNN is reporting they are calling the National Guard as police are being overwhelmed but the CNN guy at the convention center said any violence was being kept away from there. Who is the Minnesota Governor? I'd have thought the NG troops would have already been in place knowing that protesters were coming.

Damn! I can see that the police in Minn are p*ssies. Girly men. They watched the anarchists on the overpass and waved the buses through when they *thought* the bus could get through. Need more reason to pack heat? Carry it, use it. The anarchists want you dead folks or seriously injured, don’t kid yourselves.
Either defend yourselves or don’t go to the convention.

Tim Pawlenty.
I’m sure they are already called up -but this was them being called in to this situation. I’m sure they try not to use military units for ordinary policing.

Hey, screen-name-I've-never-seen-before KMA. I didn't recognize Mike Duncan's name or face has the head of the RNC either. Sorry, I am not all knowing. Thanks for letting me know that the Gov is at least a Republican.
We all knew protesters would be there. A better plan should have been in place.

I'd seen clips of the rioters on FOX. While Denver had police in full riot gear, the St. Paul police didn't look as well protected. Maybe because they didn't get out of hand so much in Denver, everyone relaxed a bit?

Thanks potlatch!
If they ran a 5-10-15 sec TV ad like this the polls would drop over 10 points for Obama!
