Dar Mrs. Palin,
I would like to congratulate you on the news of the upcoming arrival of your first grandchild. I’m certain that your daughter, with the loving support of her family, will manage to weather this storm and face her adult responsibilities with grace.
Babies are a blessing. Although I’ve encouraged my own teenage daughter to wait until marriage, in my heart I know that I can only control so much. I’ve already made the decision that early motherhood is not the worst thing that can happen to her. If she does “jump the shark” and produce a child before she’s financially and emotionally ready, I’ll be standing in the wings to help her in any way I can and she’ll know from that beginning that she doesn’t have to do this alone.
From a mother to a mother,
Marie
Bless you, dear. From a dad to a mom.
Bless you for your beautiful letter to Sarah. You are raising your daughters exactly like my daughter raised hers. My grandaughter did get pregnant in spite of her good upbringing but they are going to be ok. Things work out when there is love and support in a family.
