And you wrote that kids don't think? You're kid did his own work, doesn't he? He understands the consequences of his actions, yes?
Smart people - ALL PEOPLE - screw up. We're human. It's how he deal with hardships, mistakes and tragedies, that defines us. We must not helicopter over our children.
My point is that I am incredibly lucky (and yes, have worked incredibly hard) to have a pretty “good” kid. But as smart and as motivated as he and his brothers are, they still say and do things that boggle the mind. It is really true that teens’ brains are not fully developed.
Thus, they don’t “think” like an adult. One stupid moment really can change their lives.
