Pro-choice and pro-life folks can agree: the demonization of pregnancy must go away.
For pro-choice folks, that would mean one less weapon to use against women.
For pro-life folks, that would remove a societal onus which drives young women to abort.
The opportunity exists to contrast starkly with Obama’s comment about babies being a burden. If the daughter should have any comment, it should be along the lines of “We should have used contraception, or held off until marriage, but in the heat of the moment we didn’t. Fortunately we love each other and cherish life, so this is one baby who will be born to a married mommy and daddy who adore them. We are so excited!”
Excellent response. Somehow, I suspect this is going to be nearly exactly what she says, and in fact how she feels.
