My point is that if Palin were to get out in front of this and shut it down, a lot of people will be discredited in the process.

If the Obama campaign were smart, their response would be very quick and decisive: disavow any association with the various sources of this smear, and black-list anyone associated with them.

From that point on, anytime the mainstream media even so much as mentions Michael Moore, Daily Kos, etc., all the McCain/Palin campaign would have to do is say: "remember who was propagating that smear on Sarah Palin"?

The Democrats are running with this story as if it's newsworthy. In women over 35, the chances of having a baby born with Down's Syndrome is really high. Hypothetically, if Trig (he's adorable!) wasn't her son, I don't get what the fuss is. They obviously chose life and are rasing him within their strong family unit - that's something to applaud, not demonize. Having said that, I firmly believe that Trig is Palin's son. The Democrats are notorious for their malicious personal attacks. They can't go after her record so they have to attack her personally. I believe that this will disgust undecided voters.

Dumbocrats think YOUR kids should be able to have sex at 12 or 13, if they didn't, they wouldn't support no-notification abortion at 13.

The story is that her daughter had a child out-of-wedlock and she is raising it as hers. I don't believe it, no proof, but what if it were true?

Wasn't Bo raised by HIS grandmother? Trig wasn't aborted, so she's true to her principles. Bo says HIS daughters shouldn't be punished with a child.

I just thought of a way to shut this down.

If there are any attorneys here they could advise on whether it would be possible for the daughter, and the son to file a liable lawsuit against Moore, Kos and the others. The daughter and the son are not “public” people, unlike McCain and Palin. I would think they would have standing in court to sue the britches off of those peddling defamatory rumors like this.

Am I wrong? Someone step in here who knows the law.

I'm new here but have been following “The Palin story” since her selection by McCain. The dk post from Moore's website has many flaws but here is a glaring one.

The dk claims this photo was taken in “late 2007” in Juneau, Alaska, they have to in order to make all the other dates match up. Look at the full photo,does this look like Juneau in November-December???:

1. Absolutely NO snow snow in the valley or even on the mountaintops.
2. The Palin’s attire is certainly “Summer”, at least for Alaska.
3. The tree in the bottom right corner is still bearing fruit, probably sumac.
4. All the deciduous trees are fully “leaved” and have NOT even begun to change color.

I would guess the pic was taken July, maybe August at the latest.

I say let them go, the thought of another “Rather-gate” seems quite pleasing.
