"He and his news crew were standing on public sidewalks covering an event of public significance and performing a press function protected by the First Amendment," said a statement issued today by Eslocker's attorneys, Daniel Recht and Steven Zansberg.

Maybe the hotel called the cops, but there is speculation that Dem big shots did not want the cameras to see something.
To put it in perspective, what is the difference between Dem censorship in Denver and Chinese censorship in Beijing?
No doubt, the DPD have opted to jackboot thug mode for their Rat Mayor, anything for that promotion and paycheck.
What about charging the jackboot thug cops with false arrest etc?
This is the source of the vast bribe money that makes democrat politicians into multimillionaires by the end of their term in office.
Can anyone imagine the media outrage had this reporter been arrested at the behest of a republican??!!
A few lawsuits against the hotel, the City of Denver and the law enforcement deartments involved in the arrest would be a more appropriate response
Every now and then WABC radio news is fair and balanced. Not often but at least more than CBS or NBC.
And FWIW, I call the Brown Palace and let them know just what I thought of their brownshirt act, calling the police on the reporters on the public sidewalk.
The rank and file of the DPD hate Chickenlooper.
for once i agree with abc!
The cops knew they were breaking the law.
Some palms were greased.
Now we have to see if some Judges are on the take too!
Of course, there will be an offer to settle for an undisclosed amount under condition that no one talks about this case and that it is completely droped... and that’s probably the last we will hear about this.
STE=Q
TYPO: dropped not “droped”
And FWIW, I call the Brown Palace and let them know just what I thought of their brownshirt act, calling the police on the reporters on the public sidewalk.

I used to work at a well known grand hotel that hosted heads of states and the rich and famous. The media will take complete control, block all access, create an atmosphere of choas, run cables whereever they wish, park wherever they wish and take over public sidewalks preventing their use by the public and access to the hotel by cars arriving and leaving. They will take complete control unless there are rules in place. That’s why the police put up barricades and designate areas where protestors can congregate and where the press may setup shop and where cameras may operate. Imagine the mess there would have been at the Denver convention if the press were allowed access to any and all public sidewalks anywhere they wished anytime they wished. Our hotel hosted hundreds of political movers and shakers over the years and we never had a problem with the parimeters set by the police during visits of contreversial politicians or heads of states.
Did you see the video of the ABC reporter and the actions of the police?
The dems were hosting big time lobbyists at the hotel and they did not want their faces caught on camera.
There were no cables blocking access at all.
My daughter was married at the Brown Palace and I am quite familiar with the entrances. This reporter was not blocking the entrance. He was out on the sidewalk.
I believe that is true. The problem is, they do his bidding when he bids them to violate 1A and conceal alleged CFR conspirators, when there is probable cause to suspect violations.
The one thing that the founders could not immunize our Constitution and Republic from is dishonorable men. When honorable men go along to get along, evil wins.
Some of that money comes from non US citizens, a federal felony, and that is one reason for the secrecy. Identify the individuals and you can trace the money back to... say for instance the Hammas Palestinians.
Toss in George Soros, the Chinese Military, the Russian mob, and God knows who else gives millions to the democrats in Congress and the Clintons.

No I didn’t. I’m just going by 40 years experience in the running of ops at some top hotels. The police set the parimeters usually on the exterior of the hotel. The hotels usually always have an area inside for press and must give permission to film from anywhere but the designated areas, both inside and outside.
Outside the police may have set the sidewalk close to the Brown Palace entry as off limits whether there was traffic or not. This is common as buffers are needed in the event of a mob scene that can’t be controlled in such closeness to the entry. Once set it is an area controlled by police. Maybe that’s not right in this case, I don’t know. I just know from experience that those procedures and guidelines worked well at my hotels.
Just saying.
