Stay Classy Daily Kos: Accusations Palin 'Faked Her Pregnancy' of Down's Syndrome baby

Taking a look at the stories in the Old Media will show that the Media is turning attack dog ASAP on McCain's choice for vice president, Sarah Palin. Notice the main meme is her supposed "inexperience." Funny how Palin was the VP pick for about 15 seconds before the Old Media went after her "inexperience" while they have yet to hit Barry Obama on HIS inexperience at all and he's been running for president since 2004. We should also note that Palin didn't get the honeymoon that Biden got when his announcement was made. But, the worst is yet to come and the Daily Kos is doing its level best to mine the lowest of lows. In a Kos diary today, it is being alleged that Sarah Palin "faked" the pregnancy of her last child, a baby born with Down's Syndrome. The claim is that it was her teenaged daughter's child, not hers. And, true to form, the Kossacks took that absurd calumny and hate even further in the comments.

Truth_ seeker to ozzymandus: Nixon was elected Nov. 1968. ...He served a full term from Jan. 1969 to Jan. 1973. Nixon was re-elected in Nov. 1972. He resigned in Aug. 1974. Always glad to help YOUR education.

Thank you TS. Much obliged for noticing his omission.

FK: I carefully built that possibility into my answer. What makes Palin's doctor presumptively better is that he or she is today. Kolo's doctor, if this is the situation, is from 25 years ago.

Are you joking? Physicians not only get better with practice (it's called "professional skills"), they are also required to attend continuing education to keep up their academic knowledge in order to keep their licenses. Your logic would have the youngest doctors as department heads. Sometimes I really wonder what you are thinking, FK.

It's no joke, and I think you're just not following what I am saying. :) I supposed that Palin's doctor gave the go ahead to travel with the baby "today". I further SUPPOSED that Kolo relayed what his doctor told him from 25 years ago, when the information was relevant to him. Since we appear to have competing doctors, I concluded that MAYBE the doctor from today might have a little more information than a doctor from a quarter century ago. That's where I'm coming from.

Perhaps you are not following what I am saying. :) Medical standards do change. When I was in school, the "normal" (systolic) blood pressure was 100+age in years. Thus if you were 50, your "normal" BP would have been 150! The same thing can be said of diabetes. A fasting blood sugar of 200 was "normal."

But with Kolo, the care and the advice he received over the years were according to the current standards of practice at that time all the way up to this day. In other words, what Kolo's physician would recommend today should be the same as Palin's.

One thing Palin's physician can't claim is a 25-year success of caring for her son. Obviously Kolo's physician did something right, and for you to dismiss him/her is factually out of sync. Maybe in 25 years, her doctor can say "I did the right thing" too.

I just watched the Youtube clip and it has Palin PRAYING (asking for prayer) that the task our soldiers are on is of God

I guess it must be the evangelical prayer that sounds like ordinary talk in supermarket language that has us Orthodox and Catholics confused. I would expect a little more reverence or at least some humility when asking for something in addition to addressing God directly and not as a passive witness.

I must strongly disagree with you, FK, as there was no prayer she was saying. Prayer would have started with "Lord, ..." or "God almighty..." or "Our Father..." or something to the effect of addressing God. Here is a transcript I made of her speech, where relevant phrases are marked with the time (in minutes and seconds) on the Youtube video.

"where God will send you from this church believe me I know what I am saying..." (55 sec.)  no prayer here. She is equating her personal success with God's will. She is on a mission from God. She could be on a mission from hell too. How are we to know?

"I think God's will has to be done in unifying the people and companies...so pray for that" [that God unify people for pipeline] ( 2:08 - 2:12] no prayer here either; it's a call for prayer that God's will "has to be done." Sounds like she decided already what God's will must be.

"all of that stuff really doesn't do any good if the people of Alaska's heart isn't right with God"  (2:34) no prayer here either FK. How does she know what is and what isn't right with God? It's arrogant

"We can work together to make sure God's will be done here." (2:49)  no prayer FK. We can work together to make sure our idea of what is God's will will be done. Whatever we define as God's will becomes God's will! Even more arrogant!

"pray for our men and women in the military who are striving to do also what is right for our country that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God (3:54)  She is asking the congregation to pray for our men and women. She has already "established" that the task they are being sent to do is from God! She has also connected what they are doing to our country as being right. There are people in this country, many of whom have served in the military who disagree with her about the war in Iraq being God's will or being right for that matter.

"that's what we have to, uh, make sure that what are we praying for, that there is a plan (3:56) and that this plan is God's plan. So, uh, bless them with your prayers" (4:03) We have to make sure by praying for it that this is God's plan? So far it has all been about "me, we and me."

"I just wanna bless you" (5:43)  I cringe at this. In the Orthodox tradition we would say "may God bless you" if you are a lay person. But I guess since the evangelicals are all "priests" (even popes!) in their own right (because Paul says so!), I suppose they can also bestow blessings. Saint Paul actually always says in the name of God...but that's too much to ask for of some Christians. LOL!

So, then, in the spirit of Sarah Palin, I bless you FK!  :)

You mean you didn't vote for Nixon? I got out of the Army in 1974. I served the country while you were in college. Judging from your language you didn’t learn much. Brain damage? Must have been too busy chasing butt heads, or just "heads."

And isn’t that what education is all about? Learning different sides to the same story and making up your own mind about it? But no, they want you to believe evolution only. Argghh.

Yes, and Amen! The "Fairness Doctrine" crowd only thinks that one point of view is suitable for the American public to hear. God help us if Obama gets elected.

FK: Jefferson attended regular Sunday Christian services as VP and President in the Capitol Building itself.

I didn't know that. That's fascinating.

I first heard of it in that John Adams HBO special. Then I looked it up and confirmed it. :)

FK: Jefferson attended regular Sunday Christian services as VP and President in the Capitol Building itself. Do you think that would be allowed today?

You can pray anywhere, FK. You can bring a priest into a room, close the doors and have a service, unless there is a specific law that says no prayers on government property. But be aware that allowing something that is by all standards a private activity should not be something done on government time.

If you are worried about government time then you should vote against all liberals because they support the invocation given every day in both houses of Congress. Of course conservatives support the tradition too, but you seem already disposed to vote against conservatives.

If someone wants to have a prayer during lunch, I don't see a problem. But if they want to pray on government time and get paid with taxpayers' money to pray, I would call that abuse.

This is the kind of thinking that leads to total bans of God because of "possibilities". The ACLU and the right Reverend Barry Lynn are cheering you on in your statement. I and those who agree with me are over here. You and the ACLU are over there.

You are shooting from the hip, FK. Taxpayers should not pay anyone for their private activities, whether it be sufing the net or praying.

I don't understand why "your" side cannot stick to facts but has to invoke lables amd slander when arguing. To me that only shows that you lack any real argument and must resort to mud-slining to make a point.

I don't see why not. Government offices are closed on Sundays.

I am more wondering about Jefferson's reason for attending those services given that he re-edited the Bible. He removed all the prophesies (supernatural aspects) from the New Testament, and all "misinterpretations" of the four Evangelists. His work, otherwise known as The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth ends with Christ dying. There is no resurrection. And you still consider him Christian? LOL!

Ben Franklin, for his part, believed there were different gods for different planets. LOL!

My question is: why can't our Congressional primadonnas pray at home as soon as they get up rather than having someone hired to read prayers for them? There is no need for daily invocations. That's just plain ridiculous (and Pharisaical).

That's not correct since you appear to assume that the Founders must have been Apostolics and interpreted the Bible such as to not be aware of passages such as:  John 1:3...Col 1:15-16

Well, if they believed Jesus was God, then why didn't they simply say Christ instead of  Creator? If they were all Christians, who would have been offended?

You cannot tell me this was all lost upon Jefferson and his advisers at the drafting of the Declaration. When they said "Creator" they were thinking Christ.

Well, we know for sure that ben Franklin could not have been thinking of Christ when he read "Creator." Neither would Thomas Jefferson., and certainly not Thomas Paine. Given that a vast majority of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence (and the Constitution)  were mainline Christians, it is really strange that no one wanted to have Christ in Christian America!

It is equally strange that the signatories believed that the power to govern comes form the people and not from God.

John Dickinson said, "To my Creator, I resign myself, humbly confiding in His goodness and in His mercy through Jesus Christ for the events of eternity."

None of them dismissed Jesus as being something important. The Unitarists consider him a prophet, even a supernatural prophet, but not God. Deists would also recognize him pretty much the way Muslims do, a prophet. But they did not consider Creator and Jesus necessarily as one and the same.

But they all dismissed Jesus when it comes to writing the Declaration and the Constitution.

“All this acrimony is about your hatred for Governor Palin. Why don’t you admit it?”

I don’t hate her at all. But this much I will not only admit, I will loudly proclaim. I think she is a lousy mother driven more by her own ego than any maternal instincts. I think her theology is peculiar, even heretical by the standards of The Church and her idea that the Iraq War is God’s will or that some pipeline up in Alaska is too is off the wall and extremely dangerous for those overwhelming majority of us in the world who don’t buy into her very parochial type of Christianity. Her comments that Ukraine and Georgia should be brought into NATO and then if Russia attacks them we go to war with Russia makes her a nutcase. The more I hear of this woman, the more I am convinced she’s an American version of Achmadinijad, looking to bring about the Second Coming.

And she apparently appeals to an element of society which calls other people “retard”.

Tell me something, O; if McCain/Palin win, will you and your sophisticated discourse be an example of what America and the world can expect from the Evangelical/Republican Party Administration (in addition to talking in tongues at summit meetings and requiring everyone to bring their own snake of course)?
