Stay Classy Daily Kos: Accusations Palin 'Faked Her Pregnancy' of Down's Syndrome baby

Taking a look at the stories in the Old Media will show that the Media is turning attack dog ASAP on McCain's choice for vice president, Sarah Palin. Notice the main meme is her supposed "inexperience." Funny how Palin was the VP pick for about 15 seconds before the Old Media went after her "inexperience" while they have yet to hit Barry Obama on HIS inexperience at all and he's been running for president since 2004. We should also note that Palin didn't get the honeymoon that Biden got when his announcement was made. But, the worst is yet to come and the Daily Kos is doing its level best to mine the lowest of lows. In a Kos diary today, it is being alleged that Sarah Palin "faked" the pregnancy of her last child, a baby born with Down's Syndrome. The claim is that it was her teenaged daughter's child, not hers. And, true to form, the Kossacks took that absurd calumny and hate even further in the comments.

Religion of Founding Fathers...

Who wrote the Declaration? Where is there any mention of Christ?

Its an awful situation, one that every Christian of every stripe, especially the likes of a Palin who pretends to leadership qualities informed by her Christianity, should loudly and continually condemn...but they won’t and she won’t because bottom line, Eastern Christians just don’t count

Of course not, especially because John McCain is an honorary member of the Albanian-American Congressional Caucus along with Joe Biden. You don;t expect any of the current candidates to conduct a policy of protecting (Eastern) Christians worldwide, while declaring themselves as real Christians?

Bottom line is, these self-styled Christian candidates will defend Israel to the death, but Eastern Christians can perish for all they care. I guess the Eastern Christians are not in God's "Plan."

Indeed. The question seems to always come back to "Who do you believe?"

Thank you for sharing your insights, dear sister in Christ!

God has no place in Congress, the Courts, on money, or public schools.

WOW, Kosta! You and the right Reverend Barry Lynn are two peas in the same pod. :)

Amazing, isn’t it? Let’s throw God out of everything. Once we threw Him out of the schools, satan came in and kids started killing one another. Some tradeoff, eh?

Thanks, FK/s. I had to look up who this character is. Never heard of him. Be it as it may, all I am saying is why not put God on everything? But you know just as well as I do that a label will not make something "holy?"

FK to Kolo: Otherwise, you accuse her of not following YOUR medical advice in place of her own doctor's

Kosta: Given that Kolo has a 20-year old with Downs' syndrome, maybe it is not his medical advice but what he was given by his doctor. And, given that he has managed to take care of him until now, makes him a lot more experienced than Sarah Palin. Or does experience count only when it is hers?

So your conclusion is that Palin should forget what her doctor says and listen to the advice of laymen (or THEIR doctors, perhaps from decades past) who also have special needs kids? Is that what you do, Kosta? It is simply unfair to judge with ZERO facts about the Palin's specific situation. Like I said, I just hope you all apply the same standards to the candidates you support.

(P.S. I remember Kolo saying 25-year-old.)

You said the Founders were Deists. That was not accurate. I gave you the names and their denominations. Only 2 were deist, and they were Christian deists....non-denominational unitarians, really.

Richard Henry Lee wrote the actual declaration that was passed by the Congress on 2 July 1776. The proclamation of that Declaration was written by Jefferson (with lots of edits). The purpose of the proclamation was political, primarily designed to publicly state the reasons for Congress' action of 2 July 1776 and to appeal to foreign governments for assistance.

Interestingly, on July 4 the Congress also tasked Franklin and Jefferson to come up with a great seal for the United States. Franklin came up with the parting of the Red Sea by Moses, and Jefferson was focused on the Children of Israel led by Cloud by day and Pillar by night. Jefferson came around to Franklin's viewpoint.

Each day's proceedings was bounded by prayer, so the July 2 declaration of independence was in the context of that same Congress that in the spring of 1776 called for this: (note the reference to Jesus Christ and the call to Christians)

"So, where does the Constitution prohibit a Christian America? In a section that has been ignored by scholars for so long that it is virtually never discussed-the key provision that transformed American into a secular humanist nation. But it took 173 years to do this: from 1788 until 1961."

While I certainly agree with the premise that Christ is Lord over the United States, do you have any idea why North thinks the 23rd Amendment prohibits a Christian nation? I couldn't figure it out. :)

I don't want a president who is a theocrat, no matter what faith he or she professes. I don't want some religious nut telling me the country is going to war because God told him so. Holy wars? No thanks! But I can see how an evangelical like Sarah Palin could use that as a "legitimate" reason because it's "real" to her. I know that because she has already made the pipeline a God-issue and blessed Iraq as a holy war which is in God's "plan." That is Christian jihad, a "crusade."

What? Can you show me where Palin has said that Iraq is a "holy war"? I am also unaware of whatever statement you are referring to concerning the pipeline. If any politician relates anything to God, is that person a religious nut to you? I am trying to figure out if you think that our leaders should have no faith at all, or whether they just should never talk about. If they do have faith and never talk about it, then we will just be voting in that much ignorance. Is that what you want?

God had nothing to do with it because there was way too much lying and deceit that went into the reasons for going to war that it couldn't have been from God, well not a Christian God at least.

So with this you are declaring God's motivations, kinda just like ................ :)

Thanks for that link, 1000. Fr. Nektarios is a blessing to the Orthodox people in America. I do hope everyone does read it and remembers that the persecution of Eastern Christians continues as I write this. As Kosta pointed out, with the likes of McCain and Biden, two prominent supporters of Albanian Mohammedan terrorists, on the national tickets, it doesn’t look good for the near term, but as Christians we can demand that our policies in support of Mohammedanism and in opposition to Christianity stop.

BTW, we have Egyptian Copts, Serbs from Kosovo and Arab Christians from Israel, Syria and Lebanon in our parish. They all thank God that they are here in America but tell chilling stories of how American aid and cover, both diplomatic and military, are used to terrorize Christians in their old countries.

But I also feel that your view is inherently flawed because it suggests that any religion is intrinsically better (in a moral sense) then atheism.

I don't recall saying anything close to that. :) There is only one "religion", and then there is everything else. Christianity alone defines what is moral and what is not. There is no such thing as comparing one person's morals against another's. There is only each person's adherence or not to the only morals that exist.

Can you show me why any religion is better?

You personally? No, because I would use the Bible to do it. :) However, I'm sure that I could show many other people why Christianity is superior. It is unique.

FK, as a practical matter, when Palin says that we are furthering God's plan by fighting the war in Iraq, incidentally destroying one of the most ancient Christian cultures on earth in the process, she is proclaiming holy war as surely as if she used those very words. As an Orthodox Christian I find that more than just disturbing. Any Christian should.

I've seen RC posters (I really don't know all the EO) enthusiastically express support of McCain & Palin, so until I see evidence otherwise I am going to assume the positive.

Ah, that is good news. I haven't seen much of that one way or the other so I'm glad to hear it.

Those were sorely oppressed peoples long before America got involved.

To put their persecution off on McCain and Biden is terribly near-sighted, Kolo. Come on now.

The Clinton administration was no friend of Serbian orthodoxy, and I strongly opposed his policies in Bosnia/Kosovo, even though active duty at the time, but I NEVER attributed Muslim oppression to him. That was going on long before he got on the scene.

The captured Saddam regime document website was shut down in November 2006 that is why the links are dead. I will gladly send you the Arabic documents of the translations that I did as I downloaded and saved them before the website was shut down.

On the WMD issue it was very clear from the documents that Saddam regime had not stopped working on WMD program. He opted to make the required precursors to make Chemical Weapons rather than the final assembled products. Saddam regime decided to do this for two reasons. First they can always claim that these precursors can be used for civilian industry as they are classified under what is called "dual use materials". Second the precursors have longer shelf life than the final chemical weapons products so it is better to store in this form and assemble it in matter of weeks if not days when required.

On the terrorism front, the documents showed that Saddam regime was much deeply involved in terrorism than we thought. Saddam regime had trained foreign Arab terrorists since 1999 until its fall and those terrorists were trained to eventually conduct terrorism attacks all over the world. Also Saddam regime turned a blind eye on Zarqawi and his Al Qaeda terrorists when they came to Iraq in 2002 and long before the war started.

“Those were sorely oppressed peoples long before America got involved.”

Interesting response, Padre. It reminds me of the old timers years ago at the courthouses who couldn;t understand why the courts were making such a big deal of domestic violence. After all, it had been going on forever!

“To put their persecution off on McCain and Biden is terribly near-sighted, Kolo. Come on now.”

They are both presently in the government and, along with Bush bear the responsibility for the foreign policies of the government. What people like that man Clinton or that man Nixon did in the past is important to remember but neither of them are presently involved in running for anything.

“The Clinton administration was no friend of Serbian orthodoxy, and I strongly opposed his policies in Bosnia/Kosovo, even though active duty at the time, but I NEVER attributed Muslim oppression to him. That was going on long before he got on the scene.”

Indeed, that oppression in Kosovo had been going on pretty much since WWII and of course prior to the Serbian War of Independence from the Turks. The difference now, and under Clinton after the bombs stopped falling, is that as a matter of American foreign policy, the American taxpayer subsidizes it and American troops defend it.

The truth, Padre, is that it would never happen if it were evangelical protestants the Mohammedans were killing. As it turns out, for the past 7 years evangelical protestants have been cheering on the present Administration as its actions destroy Christian communities. Now tell me, Padre, what are Orthodox Christians and Roman Catholics who know what is happening to those Eastern Christians in communion with the Pope in the ME, supposed to think about that? What are we supposed to think when this Palin woman starts attributing to God a plan for this war or Bidan and McCain embrace Islamic terrorists?
