Palin: Global Warming Not Man-Made
ABC news ^ | Aug. 29, 2008 | Rick Klein

In an interview for the September issue of the conservative magazine Newsmax, Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, said she does not believe climate change is caused by human behavior.

"A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. I'm not one though who would attribute it to being man-made," Palin said in the interview, which was posted online Friday.

There's two good things about Global Warming, if it's true:

1) It will allow more land to be farmed. It's been almost 1,000 since wine was grown in Greenland, so we can look forward to new varieties, as well as increased global food harvests.

2) If it really does cause sea levels to rise, where do most liberals live? On the east and west coast! Thus, global warming could possibly solve two problems at once!

Hopefully, McCain won’t try to force her to change her mind. McCain’s cap and trade legislation to address this hoax will wreck our economy.

Building the state's knowledge of the actual and foreseeable effects of climate warming in Alaska

Developing appropriate measures and policies to prepare communities in Alaska for the anticipated impacts from climate change

Providing guidance regarding Alaska's participation in regional and national efforts addressing causes and effects of climate change

Actually, this makes sense if you accept the premise that global warming is and will continue to occur, manmade of not. It is about how to deal with the effects, not necessarily how to prevent it.

The reality is that the earth has not warmed since 1998 and even the global warming nuts acknowledge that we are going to have a cooling trend thru 2015.

no chance. Look for the dumbest Kennedy, what's his name, the congressmember, to move to Mass and run for the seat. It is obvious the voters of that state are mesmerized by all things Kennedy. What populace would send him back to the senate after the manslaughter and abandoment of that poor woman? Only in Mass.

And Pelosi, look where her district is. I think they look for the most radical idiot to run just to mess with everyone else.

From the order:

Alaska’s climate change strategy must be built on sound science and the best available facts and must recognize Alaska’s interest in economic growth and the development of its resources.

I agree there are some words to offer hope. But when it also talks about looking at changes in transportation, land use management, etc ... and pursuing all sorts of whizbang alternative energy projects, I will remain watchful. As the article stated:
“Governor Palin not only stands with John McCain in his belief that global warming is a critical issue that must be addressed, but she has been a leader in addressing climate change”
We also have earlier evidence that she is far from a "denier."
Copyright The McClatchy Company Apr 12, 2007

Gov. Sarah Palin plans to explore ways Alaska can reduce its own greenhouse gas emissions as part of a global-warming strategy to be developed by a new subcabinet of top administration officials.

State officials said this week that Palin’s new subcabinet will develop policies to help the state adapt to climate changes that have been more pronounced in Alaska than elsewhere.

For the first time, the state will also begin looking for ways to curb Alaska’s own contribution to the global atmospheric problem, officials said.

The state’s interest in curbing emissions represents a new emphasis for Palin, who pronounced herself unconvinced about global warming science during her campaign for governor last year.

In her interview with Kudlow, she is described as a global warming sepktic by the Daily Kos. I have no problem with adapting to climate change. I do have a problem with those who think it is manmade. McCain's cap and trade system would wreck our economy. In the final analysis, it is McCain's call, not Palin's. She is on our side, but she is only the VP.

My prediction is that McCain will announce at the convention during his acceptance speech that he has changed his mind on drilling in ANWR, thanks to Sarah Palin. You heard here first.

Which interview was that? I know he interviewed her at least twice. In those two interviews, global warming didn't come up.

OK, I read it. She established a sub-cabinet agency to advise her on “preparation and implementation of an Alaska climate change strategy.” If she demands the truth, and it seems that she does, what would their advise be? No one can say she just dismissed the issue out of hand. This is the way an intelligent person handles the moonbats when the moonbats have breached the walls. “You want some science? Here’s some science.”

Sorry, it was her interview with NewsMax, not Kudlow.

Palin denies global warming is not manmade.

Not a bad position to have a "Climate Change" skeptic in if you ask me. Doesn't the VP hold the tie breaker vote in the House?

Senate. Thank you. That makes more sense with an even number of Critters.

The VP is in a unique position to promote issues without a lot of pressure on her. The VP should basically support the President's policies but it is possible to take a position of friendly opposition. She would also stand as objective counsel to the President and McCain probably wouldn't shout her down with a curse filled tirade if she disagreed with him. I don't think she would take it. She would give him a "don't talk to your mother like that" look and then brief him in detail on the subject like a corporate executive. That is my sense of what kind of person she is and how McCain would respond to her.
