In an interview for the September issue of the conservative magazine Newsmax, Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, said she does not believe climate change is caused by human behavior.

"A changing environment will affect Alaska more than any other state, because of our location. I'm not one though who would attribute it to being man-made," Palin said in the interview, which was posted online Friday.

A McCain campaign spokeswoman, Maria Comella, disputed suggestions that Palin does not recognize the reality of global warming. As governor, she created a new “sub-cabinet” agency last September, to advise her office “on the preparation and implementation of an Alaska climate change strategy.”

She has also endorsed efforts to learn more about human impacts on climate change.

“Governor Palin not only stands with John McCain in his belief that global warming is a critical issue that must be addressed, but she has been a leader in addressing climate change,” Comella said.

The one thing that no one has ever brought up to the enviroMENTAL Nazi’s is how a show like Ice Road Truckers is even made possible in the age of global warming.

The 21st Century McCain* is doing better, but he's stabbed us and the Constitution in the back too many times to follow enthusiastically.

* : The 20th Century McCain - with how he served his country, and initially comported himself as public servant - was a man worth following.

After 8 years of being VP, she could be a front runner for president.

It seems to me that she and her family members might be homesick for Alaska before that much time goes by. It doesn't seem like her husband will have much to do in DC. But I could be wrong.

She actually wobbles a little on this. She has stated before she is open to the possibility and she did create a cabinet on climate change as governor.

She is firm about the polar bears though!

Just listen to Obama for a bit, that should increase your enthusiasm for McCain, especially now that he showed the good sense of choosing Palin as his VP.

"I think you should give credit to McCain for having the good sense to pick her.

"One of the important hallmarks of a leader is to pick the right people for the right jobs around him."

......a skill Obama obviously doesn't have.

“It doesn’t seem like her husband will have much to do in DC. But I could be wrong.”

Her husband will presumably be taking care of their new little boy (and the family in general). She certainly won’t have time to do so.

Right now while she is governor he works as a commercial fisherman and on the North Slope. Plus he goes on long snowmobile journeys. So presumably he's not home a lot of the time. The daughters have to be in school. So they must have some other help.

I wonder if these native Alaskans, who seem to be so involved in the lifestyle of their state, will be happy living at the Naval Observatory.

Isn’t it amazing that a “news media” that never discovered Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, fellow traveler mom and African Socialist dad, and Muslim relatives who try to overthrow the government in Kenya, can, withing 24 hours, come up with all kinds of mud to sling at Sarah Palin.

Their chief “news source” must be the DNC.

also caused by cave man burning twigs 10,000 years ago?

I think they just can’t have a debate open up within the ticket. The VP candidate always has to subordinate to the presdiential candidate this way. But it sounds most likely that she is well aquainted with the truth about the issue.
