Who has ever seen this sort of excited, passionate reaction to the selection of a VP nominee? Who ever heard of it being common for the new VP nominee to be compared to and contrasted with the other party’s Presidential nominee? It’s almost as though Palin were the nominee for President, and not VP!

It’s almost as though Palin were the nominee for President, and not VP!

She is, just that people have mentally fast forwarded to 2012 and know that she will be the odds on favorite to succeed McCain should he not run for a second term (or not be around to do so.)

Not only has Palin shut down the Obama coronation, all of Hillery's best laid plans to set herself up for 2012 may well have also been dashed by Palin's warm reception today.

Because by 2016, or maybe even 2012 if McCain retires after one term, she will be the effective head of the GOP.

Time to bring back the macarena.
