When is the deadline to contribute to the McCain-Palin campaign before the welfare-financing rules kick in?
To: flyfree
Wooo! I was wondering how much they would rake in today. I donated right before Rush and it took me a while! I had a feeling the money would be pouring in.

I just sent McCain my first contribution—but it was after 6 pm EST so they’ll have to recount the day’s take after midnight PST.
What a great day to be a conservative woman!

Maybe Gustav can push the convention back a
couple of weeks - nominate him on Sept 15, spread
his federal funds over 50 days instead of 64.
(Assuming he has money to last until then.)

Who has ever seen this sort of excited, passionate reaction to the selection of a VP nominee? Who ever heard of it being common for the new VP nominee to be compared to and contrasted with the other party’s Presidential nominee? It’s almost as though Palin were the nominee for President, and not VP!

Sent this out earlier as an idea for Jim:
"Jim, could we just do this by acclimation now? Can we make FR an official McCain-Palin site, and put up a logo for McCain on the top page, (maybe with the GOP Party logo) and just take down the commitment to "independent conservative" in the mission statement and preamble? I think we should make it official at least and turn this into a sanctioned adjunct of the McCain-Republican Party. We may even be able to arrange to have the Republican National Party fund it (they have bucks we could only imagine), so we don't have to struggle through Freepathons anymore. Just a thought. After nine years here, I think this is the prudent thing to do and would reflect majority sentiment in favor of McCain and that wing of the party. I believe we should start the "Day in Life of John and Cindy" threads and "Pray for Candidate McCain" threads. That would appeal to a wide group of people. You may want to start considering this now.
"
I think if you can redoe your swell graphic in Spanish as well, we will be sure not to leave out any of God's Children.
