Laura Ingraham - PALIN: The PERFECT Conservative Choice!!
Townhall ^ | August 29, 2008 | Laura Ingraham

Posted on 08/29/2008 5:45:39 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Most conservatives did not think that the selection of Palin was truly under consideration, but we have all been pleasantly surprised. Perhaps “surprised” understates our emotions. How about “shocked”, “awed”, “inspired”, and “thrilled”! It simply doesn’t get any better than the 44 year old Palin. If conservatives were caught off guard, you may rest assured that the Democrats were even more blown away – and in spite of last night’s Obama euphoria, they will lose considerable sleep tonight.

Look at this! Palin is all of:

· A Devout Christian

· Pro-Life & Traditional Family Values

· Fiscal Conservative

· Tax-Cutter

· Business Executive Experience

· Energy Expert & Oil Industry Savvy

· Peace Through Strength Philosophy

· Gubernatorial Experience

· Lifetime Member of the NRA

Her great looks, classy image, poise, grit, and speaking skills will establish her as a dynamo on the campaign trail. It just doesn’t get any better than this! I am almost as excited as I was organizing rallies for Reagan during the 1980s.

This was a hard fight for a high stakes appointment, with much blogging, e-mailing, and lobbying behind the scenes. It’s time to unite, heal the wounds, and defeat the humanist-secularist-socialist-enivironmentalwacko-pacifist-extremist-religionists and further the cause of LIFE, LIBERTY, & TRUTH!

But you can bet the libs are going to try anything to discredit Gov Palin.

Oh yes. Politico.com is loaded with Dems who are saying her Down’s Syndrome child was actually her daughter’s child and she is covering it up. They are also saying Palin slept with McCain for the nod. They are also saying she is a poor excuse for a mother because she is willing to leave her handicapped baby in the care of another while she is going to campaign. They are sliming her every which way. She better get her talking points together!

But doesnt this take away McCain’s biggest club to beat Obama with? (Experience)

Like Rush says, stop letting the left control the dialogue. I think she has great executive experience, but even if she didn't, she is as far away from that cesspool in Washington, DC as you can get.

I think a really smart guy once said, "I would rather be ruled by the first 100 names in the Boston phone book than the faculty of Harvard University".

For me this election has now jumped from the anti-Obama selection to the pro-McCain/Palin selection.

I was prepared to vote for McCain to keep Obama out. I am now fired up to work for the campaign and donate. Never thought I'd type those words like many others here have said.

nice try. I wasn’t a McCain supporter but in fairness he’s no socialist. Obama is the full-on Marxist is this drill.

Palin brings a whole new energy. I’m pumped.

Consider this: the best situation to be in is to have a stronger counterpunch than the punch you first take. What's the counterpunch to the "experience" statement?

Our presidential candidate has more executive experience than your presidential candidate does. The media will be forced to nod in agreement to that one.

“That’s why Laura gets paid the big bucks...to tell everyone the obvious.

Palin 2016!”

Gotta have the bottom of the ticket, too.

Palin-Ingraham 2016!

Keep in mind that the reason the Republicans are in a mess is because they forgot their conservative principles, particularly on fiscal policy. The Democrats have mistaken the lack of popularity in the “generic” Republican politician. They believe they’ve a mandate for extreme liberalism. They think its a mandate to “rush to the left”. I counter that its the exact opposite. We (the conservatives in this country) want our Republicans to be conservative - something Mrs Palin has demonstrated while in a leadership position. Mrs. Palin is exactly what McCain needs to invigorate his core conservative base...

I wish people would stop saying Obama has no executive experience. As Chairman of the Board for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, the Messiah ran the foundation right into the ground along with his great friend Bill Ayers.

Nope. The democrats can’t help mentioning it, and every time they do, normal people will think, “But Obama has even less, and he’s the TOP of their ticket!”

Every time they attack her, they will be shooting themselves, and Obama’s too full of himself to realize it.

Good one! I can’t wait to vote for McCain as a prelude to voting for Palin in 4 or 8 years.

I didn’t care for her “challenge the status quo for the common good” line.
Unless she’s talking about challenging the current liberal status quo and plans to dismantle big government.

"You're kidding yourself if you honestly think Palin will influence a socialist like McCain. She is his running mate for a reason. McCain suddenly doing one Conservative act after years voting with the socialist RATS on many issues does not instantly make him a conservative."

I'm starting to think that you and your buddies wouldn't have a good word for Senator John McCain (Captain, U.S. Navy-Retired) if he cloned President Reagan and named him his running mate.

They already are. Something about a trooper getting fired.

When Clinton was in office they ignored everything they could.

surprise, surprise....

Can anyone provide some detailed info. on where Gov. Palin stands on the WOT? There seems to be some controversy, but very little detail, about this subject, on other forums. Thanks, all!

Well, let me think.

McCain - longtime Senator with experience in Washington, the military and foreign affairs

Palin - Executive experience as a mayor and governor. Took on corrupt politicians in her state and won.

Obama - Community organizer, part-time Senator who voted "Present" (which is basically not taking a position), made a speech in Germany that was less than flattering to his country.

Biden - longtime Senator with experience in foreign affairs...none of which is military.

Hmmm...seems that Obama is the least experienced of the four. Yeah...I would rather vote for the ticket that has the most experienced at the top of the ticket instead of the other way around.
