Laura Ingraham - PALIN: The PERFECT Conservative Choice!!
Townhall ^ | August 29, 2008 | Laura Ingraham

Posted on 08/29/2008 5:45:39 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Most conservatives did not think that the selection of Palin was truly under consideration, but we have all been pleasantly surprised. Perhaps “surprised” understates our emotions. How about “shocked”, “awed”, “inspired”, and “thrilled”! It simply doesn’t get any better than the 44 year old Palin. If conservatives were caught off guard, you may rest assured that the Democrats were even more blown away – and in spite of last night’s Obama euphoria, they will lose considerable sleep tonight.

Look at this! Palin is all of:

· A Devout Christian

· Pro-Life & Traditional Family Values

· Fiscal Conservative

· Tax-Cutter

· Business Executive Experience

· Energy Expert & Oil Industry Savvy

· Peace Through Strength Philosophy

· Gubernatorial Experience

· Lifetime Member of the NRA

Her great looks, classy image, poise, grit, and speaking skills will establish her as a dynamo on the campaign trail. It just doesn’t get any better than this! I am almost as excited as I was organizing rallies for Reagan during the 1980s.

This was a hard fight for a high stakes appointment, with much blogging, e-mailing, and lobbying behind the scenes. It’s time to unite, heal the wounds, and defeat the humanist-secularist-socialist-enivironmentalwacko-pacifist-extremist-religionists and further the cause of LIFE, LIBERTY, & TRUTH!

Hmmm... I am a little uneasy that no one here has yet come up with anything detailed (detailed!) as to what Gov. Palin’s position(s) are on the WOT, Iraq, etc. She is going to face intense and hostile questioning from the other side (which includes the MSM) on this...

Her son is due to ship out soon to Iraq as a soldier, IIRC, if that helps you.

Given where I live my vote one way or another for John McCain is virtually useless. The only impact I can have is through financial contributions. Up to today I was prepared to sit this one out - I don’t like John McCain and don’t agree with most of his policies but now I think I’ll write a small check.

For those who know a bit of Roman history, Governor Palin is a Trajan, not a Piso.

Holy sh*t. Settle down. There is a universe of difference between a Palin and Reagan. After Palin writes thousands of articles and speeches and issue papers on geopolitics, communism, conservatism, and US history, then we can begin to hint at a comparison.

There is a reason why Reagan was singulary qualified over just about everyone save George Washington for the office in the history of this republic.

But doesnt this take away McCain’s biggest club to beat Obama with? (Experience)

NO!!! Obama isn’t running against Palin. Obama is running against McCain. This is what is so funny. Everyone is comparing OBama to the VICE-PRESIDENT pick.

Hi, 2ndDivisionVet,

Yes, Gov. Palin’s son going to Iraq has been on the news. About all I’ve been able find out, beyond her speech today, are a couple comments on blogs to the effect that she has said “she hates the war”. This is quite possibly something taken out of context, or not even true at all. But, I wish I knew for sure...

Did you notice how Palin is the only one with any executive experience out of the whole bunch?

What should be more embrassing to Obantard is that she’d done more positive things in her short time that the vaunted Ohboohoo has.

Sarah began public service in elected office 1992.
Governor since 2006.
Obama began public service in elected office 1997.
US Senator since 2006 (but only 143 days.)
Yeah Obama was a “community organizer” but that was not an elected office. That was a “Hired hand.”

And if they say McCain is so old he could die any day.

Well obama is so radical he could get shot any day. Then Palin still has more experience governing than Biden

You're kidding yourself if you honestly think Palin will influence a socialist like McCain. She is his running mate for a reason. McCain suddenly doing one Conservative act after years voting with the socialist RATS on many issues does not instantly make him a conservative.

That is true, but one thing it DOES prove perfectly: McCain's hard-about since saddleback, with his pick of a serious far right (+religious right Evangelical) big "C" Conservative VP is him caving in to the BASE.

He and his creepy RINO pals have as much as admitted that there is no way they can win w/o the far right... and all their mug whores hereabouts can now kindly STFU about how the Conservatives are all washed up, 'cuz that big giant sucking sound is their hero kissing our collective Conservative butts.

That being said, he can still go pack sand. I wouldn't vote for that traitorous bastard no matter what the reason.

What are you doing to make it better? All you’re doing is pouting. It’s self-indulgent and destructive. Answer the question.

You've been given the answer many times in many ways of pointing out the depth of McCain's socialist tendencies and the breadth of his effort to pretend he is conservative. Calling it pouting is a poor attempt to address the problem is with McCain and not those who refuse to sacrifice conservative principles for expediency to expand the voter base. Standing strong on conservative principles by opposing McCain, Obama or any other socialist is the most effective method to advance the Conservative cause.

Making people aware on a conservative website he is a socialist is completely lost on people such as yourself who can't or refuse to see the increasingly similarities between the two parties and the incremental socialism occurring in the GOP and the nation couldn't be more destructive. You should be questioning McCain and his socialist cronies instead of trying to kill the messenger.

A person is measured by their deeds, yes. To that extent alone you have a point. But what a person does is driven by what’s in their heart, the most accurate measure.

Palin’s outstanding qualities are genuineness and a tenacity to that which is morally right. She’s a fighter. Standing up to corruption against the odds only once, when done for the right reasons, is worth a million papers and speeches.

Palin is a true conservative who fights for what’s right, and she appeals across the spectrum—that’s how she’s like Reagan. Those kinds of politicians don’t come along every day, not at the highest levels.

True. It is rare. Just remember that a ‘mythology’ tends to develop around people, and it is very often not deserved.

The Reagan mythology is alive and growing because he was a cold warrior for 60 years, the best Gov. California ever had, the intellectual backbone of the renewed conservatism in AMerica, an extraordinary President, the prime reason for scores of millions being freed from the USSR boot, etc etc. All domonstrably true, and proven over a lifetime that was ‘bigger than life’.

The early mythology of Palin is like that of Elliot Spitzer for the lefties (pre-Kristen). A fighter of corruption, champion of the little guy, someone who gets things done, etc etc. Only time can determine if the early mythology is earned or not.

Other than gender, I can’t see a great deal of difference between Palin and Reagan.

I see two great differences.... ;o)

Do you understand they are both socialists?

Do you understand they are our only choices in this election cycle.

What are you, some kind of a troll going thread to thread to pour warm piss on the only bright spot of this election cycle?
