A person is measured by their deeds, yes. To that extent alone you have a point. But what a person does is driven by what’s in their heart, the most accurate measure.

Palin’s outstanding qualities are genuineness and a tenacity to that which is morally right. She’s a fighter. Standing up to corruption against the odds only once, when done for the right reasons, is worth a million papers and speeches.

Palin is a true conservative who fights for what’s right, and she appeals across the spectrum—that’s how she’s like Reagan. Those kinds of politicians don’t come along every day, not at the highest levels.

True. It is rare. Just remember that a ‘mythology’ tends to develop around people, and it is very often not deserved.

The Reagan mythology is alive and growing because he was a cold warrior for 60 years, the best Gov. California ever had, the intellectual backbone of the renewed conservatism in AMerica, an extraordinary President, the prime reason for scores of millions being freed from the USSR boot, etc etc. All domonstrably true, and proven over a lifetime that was ‘bigger than life’.

The early mythology of Palin is like that of Elliot Spitzer for the lefties (pre-Kristen). A fighter of corruption, champion of the little guy, someone who gets things done, etc etc. Only time can determine if the early mythology is earned or not.
