Look agt this thread jackass, FReepers hate Savage, with good reason http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2070907/posts?page=91#99
Simple... When Savage is on, there’s nobody better.... when he’s attacking the Clintons, Muslim Hussein, or hollywood, he’s excellent. When he turns his guns to our (that would be conservatives), he’s a dope... He says he’s a conservative... Act like it... consistently... Rush, Sea, Hewitt, Levin all do...
“LMAO! Do we listen to the same Savage, lol?”
hehe... I know. I had to read it again after I wrote it.
There are exceptions to every rule, I don't believe either of those women had 5 children, one disabled, to raise while they were in power. Palin does, so much for conservative 'Traditional Values', she won't be pushing those because her current status in life doesn't necessarily exemplify it, plus that type of talk won't bring in the Hillary voters anyway.
Palin is not an unknown, unproven, Quayle-type. She has a record in Alaska that you could look up any time. She’s also not sobbing over her son going to Iraq in two weeks. She’s plenty tough enough. Alaskans are pioneers.
Hey good for you, maybe you can find a good date this weekend if your grandmother has everything all sewed up for you, lol!
LOL!
She’s known in Alaska, but not the rest of the country. Quayle was popular in Indiana, but unknown to the rest of the country. Being the governor of a small state like Alaska and then being a step away from the Presidency of the U.S. is a gamble I’d prefer not to have to confront with a Palin but unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of that choice anymore.
Give me a break, typical Savage hate fest, doesn’t mean a thing as far as the truth of what Savage says is concerned.
Why don’t you EVER break with Savage on anything major... You’re always in lockstep with that fool... I just don’t get it
I did not care for nor did I understand the Savage donation to Jerry Brown, but he never disclosed the real reason why he did it, so I really couldn't pass proper judgment on it.
I would suspect McCain has the nomination wrapped up. Savage may be tugging a bit for Barry Hussein because it would work wonders for his own popularity. But, so far anyhow, Palin is a great choice - it’s pissing off all the right people and has Team 0bama working overtime.
An Obama presidency means a Fairness Doctrine, a Supreme Court that agrees with it, and the end of Savage's broadcasting career as we now know it.
The last winning presidential ticket without gubernatorial experience was Ike/Dick in 1952 & Ike had a whole war of executive experience.
There are no qualifications for President under than being at least 35, a natural born citizen of the USA, and a resident of the USA for at least fourteen years. Anything else is what the voters think should be qualifications.
Quayle may have been told by the GHWB people not to make waves, which meant he could not defend himself that well. Or maybe he just lack the initiative to respond when attacked, as so many of the Republican senators do.
Quayle had a dozen years of congressinal experience when he ran for VP, but he could not communicate that point without letting ol’ Lloyd M. Bentsen, Jr., snap at him and get away with it. Dan looked pitiful with that non-response, saying “that’s uncalled for.” It was pitiful. I think he lost any chance of being president right there. She should have went after Bentsen too, not just Dukakis.
McCain has gambled on getting the disaffected angry Hillary voter while appeasing the conservative base with this pick whereas Obama's VP pick was trying to make up for the lack of experience charge. Both sides have glaring shortcomings now experience wise imo.
Hello fellow infidels!
Hello TSN Queen!
*bows before TSN Queen*
Well, another school year has begun and again my participation here has to be limited. :(
As far as the selection of Palin is concerned...when I first saw this (and keep in mind I never knew of her until I saw the news), my immediate reaction was that this was a strategic move on McCain’s part. By that I mean he was going after the female vote (mainly PO’d Hillary supporters) and also to steal the spotlight from Obama. Well...I think he succeeded with the latter, as far as the female vote is concerned, that remains to be seen.
OK...so she is governor of Alaska (thus, she has some leadership experience) and wants to drill for oil (no problem there with me), she fought corruption within her own party (thumbs-up from me). She is pro-life (always good!) and likes guns (how cool is that?!?).
I am worried as to how the Dems are going to attack her by pointing out lack of experience (in foreign policy, etc.) This bascially means that Obama should not be criticized for his lack of experience. Yes...I know, it’s McCain against Obama, but still you know what is going to happen.
Of course, beign governor means you are head of the National Guard, but aside from mobilizing for disaster assistance, what has she used them for in defending the Alaskan frontier? Has she ordered them to the Canadian border or to patrol the airspace to check on the Russians?
Does anyone know what her stance is on illegal immigration?
If she is what is needed to bring the conservative base (along with a few women) behind McCain, then I trust that McCain made the right choice. I know nothing of her, obviously McCain sees something in her, and many seem to like the pick...so be it.
Hey....how about them Cubs?!?!?!!!! Magic number 22!!!
EEK!!!!!
Good post EEK!
