Exactly Das, he even checked off her conservative views earlier in the show, but if that's all it takes how many conservative members of Congress exist that also could have been chosen, ones that even have more experience that Palin.
This appears to me to be a strategic pick and probably a necessary one, maybe even the only good one that would pass muster in todays PC feminized America that would appease both the conservatives and the independent soccer, err hockey moms.

It is always on the table. In this case, so far, the positives of the Palin pick outweigh the negatives by a lot.
Better than Joe Lieberman, Charlie Crist, Kay Bailey Hutchison, et al, sure.
The McCain camp knew that they had to pick a declared pro-lifer, in spite of some tension. From the pool of VP picks, Palin is one of the better candidates, if even Bobby Jindal in a skirt, as some have suggested. ;)

This was a three-fer: Playing the Governor-as-president in miniature card, picking a woman in a game of "Gotcha!" against the Obama campaign, and getting hesitant evangelical voters--expecting Romney or a pro-choice candidate--on board. Let's not confuse criticism of Governor Palin's ability to serve as Vice President with the woman. With regard to the latter, I sort of like her--but not in that way! ;)

It seems to be an affirmative action pick much in the same way that the Biden choice was, but perhaps I've missed something that the "insiders" are hip to.
Turning blocs into Legos, I suppose.

“affirmative action pick’
A twofer, in that it pokes the dem-o-rat/feminazi/womyn types in the eye for passing over hildabeast.

Ha, more grist for the Savage hating mill, Checkers did good this time considering the overwhelming FR sheeple like response to the Palin pick, could breathe new life into his shrinking Savage hating ping list.
Savage may be wrong or he may be right, I think he's right at least as far as the qualification issue goes, yes considering what McCain could've done to the conservative cause, the pick has relieved conservatives and from this thread alone that seems to be all that counts, lol, however I think it's just another step downward in a dumbed-down America, count me still worried.

I usually like Savage, but he sucks, today. I turned him on today to hear what he had to say about Palin. It didn't last long. I'm surprised he doesn't like her so much.

And yet it's never mentioned the third of a million dollars he raised to exonerate the falsely accused marines, his unflinching views on illegal immigration, border security, national defense, the erosion of family values by the homosexual agenda, Bush's gaffes like Harriet Myers and Dubai Ports. Just the same old juvenile epithets with varied wording.
