Most history books written by Democrat professors downplay the fact that the Worst President Ever was a Democrat. Did the Democrats nominate him? No, he was the 1864 Republican nominee for vice president.

The election was so close, I don’t know if anyone can say that Johnson helped or hurt Lincoln’s chances. He could have won more votes or lost completely with someone else.
On the other side, Johnson made a lousy President, making a mess of things in the south.
Hmm.. I thought the worst pres was Carter....

I would like to nominate the traitor, rapist and impeached POTUS William Jefferson Clinton as the worst President ever. His gift of missile and guidance technology to the Red Chinese in exchange for illegal campaign contributions is a gift that will keep on giving, placing our country in grave danger for many generations to come. This is nothing less than TREASON and he should stand trial for these acts.
Johnson was a terrible president for failing to protect civil rights, but he should not have been impeached for violating an unconstitutional law. Presidents have a right to fire members of the Cabinet.

Lincoln won of course.
