My wife, an anti-Obama voter who might have made it to the polls to unenthusiastically cast a vote for McCain as the lesser evil, is electrified. A poll of one. We’ll see how unusual she is.

I can vote for McCain/Palin without holding my nose.

Make that two. Mine just now phoned me with the news, and she was screaming with excitement...ahem, gotta’ go. Looks like something’s been left turned on at home. I’m liking Palin already.

A poll of one. Well see how unusual she is.Judging by the number of comments on FR as well as every other right-wing blog (an admittedly unscientific sample) I'd say the excitement is tremendous -- more than I've seen since 2000.
McCain needed to make a choice that would electrify Republicans. I think he has.

Mine had vowed to write in Ron Paul, but now says that she would vote for “the ticket” even though she doesn’t like McCain.
I’m in the “electrified” camp, that we have a potential real conservative leader for 2012, or 2016.

My stepdaughter, a career Dem, just called to say she’s voting for McCain/Palin. This is a win, people!

That's me, too. Well, except for the part about being your wife. I just cranked this out to commemorate this pick.

Good going, John. Keep this up - and forsake your Constitution-stomping form of CFR - and I might actually put your real name up there....

Everyone I have spoken with so far is delighted. The chow hall was abuzz at dinner this evening and it was all positive.
One friend called my mobile late this afternoon when the news came out and was bummed that she wasn't the one who got to break it to me. I had been glued to my TV and when my friend called, I answered "Palin! YESSSSS!" LOL
