if McCain team does this...
and puts Palin on the ticket...
I am going to scream like a little schoolgirl!!!
It is the perfect political move and will stun the Dems
Come to think of it I wouldn't actually be voting FOR McCain, I'd be voting against Obama and for Palin.
But I think it's gonna be Romney or Pawlenty or a completely unexpected pick. And then there's Joe L.

No movement on Intrade for her yet. [You are not trying to cover a position are you? :-) ]
Every possible VP candidate has been floated in some article on FR in the past 24 hours. I’m starting to wonder if people are trying to make money from little spikes on Intrade.
Experience ain't the greatest thing in the world. Plenty of bad presidents had tons of experience and plenty of good ones had near-none.
I'd take an average Joe Farmer off the street as president before I would yet another career politician.
I agree with you and share your sentiment. But, after the Biden annoncement fiasco, I think McCain would be wise to, if at all possible, spring a real secret on the public. Just to show that in his admin., secrets will remain secret.
I have no idea, but this plane leaving Alaska and landing in Dayton tonight is legit, and according to the OP, it’s the same plane that went to Az when McCain was meeting with his staff about the veep pick.
??
It’s a big “who knows” at this point.
I just don’t think Palin is a decoy when they (McCain’s camp) haven’t leaked her name to the media like they obviously have with other candidates the last 24 hours. I mean, Tom Ridge?
LOL
Poor foolish MSNBC.
That’s what I am hearing. Another FReeper said Alaskans love her and think she is a “butt kickin goddess” and she hunts and fishes as well. She has a son in Afghanistan and a newborn with Downs (very pro-life). She has a beautiful family (5 kids?)—it would contrast beautifully with Biden’s lovely family.
Maybe it’s just because I am deliriously tired, but I am feeling kinda hopeful.
Re: oil/energy
She knows her $hit better than Johnny Mac. He would do well to shut the F up and listen to her. That in itself is worth the price of admission no?

If this is true, Free Republic has broken the story again! The people on this forum are amazing. I hope it’s true.
Thanks for the info. Are they trying to develop the coal - or is it just too far and too costly to get it down to the users in the Lower 48?
A liberal friend (yes- friend!) made the comment on how Alaskan’s got a pretty good oil divident/royalty check this year, plus a check to cover the increased cost of fuel. Then made the comment “Alaska is the Saudi of the North” (not in a mean way - he loves Alaska and kicks himself for leaving!) ANYWAY - I wonder how much of this attitude is real, and could it be sold to mainstream Midwest America to vote against Palin?
However - didn’t she just raise the taxes on the oil companies a bit? I recall that the negotiated tax rate from years ago may have been tainted (bribes or something?).
Riiiiight. OK. Nevermind.
It could...but I think there are a lot of women out there who would be insulted by that suggestion.
Plus, her candidacy has a real shot of firing up the conservative base. That's what's needed with this pick.
Actually, I think the credit for that should go to the discussions at http://palinforvp.blogspot.com/2008/08/online-victory-party.html
(not to diss FR or anything of course)
She’s just got “IT”!
He will tie Obama to 9% Pelosi.
Palin vs Pelosi, no contest.
